Elizabeth Barlow and Martin Livingston

She died after 1854 when her husband's will was made. She was the oldest child of John Barlow and his first wife, Nancy Rash, the only one born before the 1790 census of Wilkes Co North Carolina.

She married MARTIN LIVINGSTON about 1812, born 1793, the son of John O. Livingston and Lucy Martin before the 1820 census which shows them with two males and two females under ten. Martin Livingston made a will 13 July 1854 and is believed to have died soon thereafter. The date of Elizabeth's death is not known. Her father, John Barlow, did not mention her or her children in his will made 20 January 1855, and this has puzzled this writer, as all the children, (or their surviving issue) were named. Allen Poe says, "Besides his own children, he (Rev John Barlow), also raised his elder granddaughter, Elizabeth Barlow (Livingston), after her father's (John Barlow, Jr.) second marriage in 1803." Could it be that she received a child's share of her grandfather's estate? Her husband died only a few months before her father made his will, but her children were all grown, and she was over 65.

Lucy never married. Lucy had a child, GEORGE NERO WHITE, alias LIVINGSTON born August 24, 1853 . He was using the surname Livingston, but later changed to White.
