In the Name of God, Amen, I John Cook of the County of
Wilkes & State of North Carolina being Perfect in body
and mind & memory. I give my Soul to God My Redeemder
and my Body to be buried in decent manner. First I give
and Bequeath to my wife Elizabeth all my movable Possessions
enduring her
widowhood and the Plantation whereon I now live and after
her Decease the moveable Effects then remaining to be Equally
divided amongst those my Children as follows to wit Isaac,
Isaah, Elizabeth, & Mary. I also give to my sons Isaac & Isaah
the (plantation Whereon I n --these words crossed out--)
tract of land where on I now live (after- crossed out)
or to be divided between them to wit to Isaac the lower
end next to the mill & to Isaah the uper end nex to
the Mountain as already divided by line. I also give to
my sons Isaac and Isaah one tract of land laying on the
mountain known by the name of Chesnut Nob To be divided
as they shall
see cause. I also give to my sons Johns widow the Particular
Articles she now possest with that she has Received of
me my wife

I acknowledge this to be my last will and testament as
