DEATHS:

Eliza Durfey, the wife of William Durfey and the mother of the within named children died in the faith of a Christian and with the glorious hope of a happy resurrection after having been an exemplary member of the Baptist denomination for nine years on the 15th April 1844

John Wessley Durfey, eldest son of William Durfey and Eliza, his wife, died on the 11th of July 1842, age twenty one years, seven months, and twenty days

William Durfey,  the husband of  Eliza  above  mentioned, and the father of the within named children died  in  the  faith of a  Christian  and  with  the glorious  hope of a happy resuriction (sic), after having been an  exemplary  member  of  the Baptist  denomination for  twenty years  on the 1st June 1854

Margarett, daughter of Wilson C. and Sarah J. Durfey, died the 6 August 1849

Martha E. Durfey died September 1st 1865

Wilson Cary Durfey died October 15 1866

William H. BARLOW  departed this life the 1st of April 1865

Thomas C. Eldred departed this life the 4th of Auggust (sic) 1881

William Addison Durfey departed this Life the 29th of January 1880

A notation in Deed Book10 on page 417:
M.  John H. BARLOW and Peter  T. Powell, Justices of the Peace for the City of Williamsburg certified Mary A. ADAMS the wife of H.B. ADAMS, and Sarah ADAMS wife of Churchill J. ADAMS  acknow- ledged the  writing of a deed which  they willingly executed in front of the justices of the peace privily (sic)  and apart from their husbands.

The Churchill Adams name was also in the Durfey Bible as married to Sarah Ann DURFEY.
