JOHN S. BARLOW FOUND DEAD AT
HOME NEAR HERE A victim of heart trouble, John S. Barlow, well known resident of the district west of Porterville, was found dead at the home where he lived alone on the Henderson road, about ten o'clock this morning. William Hart, an old friend of Barlow, who was summoned by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Iman when they were unable this morning to rouse Barlow, found the body slumped on the ground near a small outhouse. Lights were going in the house and a tub of water was heating on the stove. Deputy Coroner Fred Frietzsche said that he believed Barlow was stricken early this morning. Iman, who had been using a mule belonging to Barlow, went over to Barlow's place early this morning, but could get no response and Mrs. Iman, at her husband's request, went over an hour or so later. When Barlow did not answer, other neighbors were informed and Hart was called. Barlow was about 66 years old and had lived here for the past 15 years, farming a small place west of town. He had once been a resident of the Traver district, and is believed to have been a native of Missouri. A number of brothers and sisters lived in Tulare county. Funeral services have not been arranged. --- original article --- This family is further outlined: Charles Barlow and Sarah Mahaley Elizabeth Cott While it is obvious that Charles, Hersie, and John S. are related, does anyone know if George might fits into this family?
