| Record of the Will of Abner Barlow
The last will and testament of Abner Barlow of Canandaigua
in the County of Ontario and State of New York.
I, Abner Barlow, being infirm in health but of a sound
and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this
my last will and testament as follows viz: |
| First: |
I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid
or any Executors out of the avails of my personal property |
| Second: |
I give to my daughter Laura Barlow and my granddaughter
Sarah B. Graves the house and lot of land on which I now
reside, being the south west corner of lot number three north
of the square and east of Main Street in the village of Canandaigua,
together with all the privileges and appurtenances belongs
to the same and which I value at ten thousand dollars, to
be equally divided between them in fee. |
| Third: |
I give to my granddaughter Lucinda B. Whitney and George
L. Whitney her husband the interest of the State of New York
upon one thousand dollars annually during their joint lives
and the life of the survivor of them, and I direct my executors
hereinafter named to invest the said sum of one thousand
dollars in good securities by bond and mortgage upon unincumbered
real estate and to pay the interest of the same annually
from the time of my decease to the said Lucinda B. Whitney
and George L. or the survivor of them, during their lives
and the life of the survivor, and on the death of such survivor,
I give the said principal of one thousand dollars to the
children of the said Lucinda B. Whitney who may there be
living to be equally divided between them |
| Fourth: |
I give to my daughter Mary Antis one thousand dollars to
be paid from the avails of my personal property |
| Fifth: |
I give to my son Nathan Barlow the sum of one thousand
dollars to be credited and allowed to him on account of money
which he received of me and for which he gave me his receipt
bearing date the fifteenth day of September A.D. |
| Sixth: |
I give to my son Abner Barlow, Jun, one thousand dollars
to be paid as follows viz: Three hundred and fifty dollars
in money from the avails of my personal property and six
hundred and fifty dollars to satisfy a receipt for that amount
which he gave me bearing date the fifteenth day of September
A.D. 1843, I also give to him all my farming utensils. |
| Seventh: |
I give and bequeath all the residue of my estate of every
description to the said Mary Antis, Laura Barlow, Abner Barlow,
Jun., and Sarah B. Graves to be equally divided among them,
their heirs, and assignees. |
| Lastly: |
I hereby constitute my son Abner Barlow, Jun. and my grandson
Abner Antis executors of this my last will and testament
hereby revoking all former wills made by me. |
| In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this seventeenth day of February one thousand eight hundred
and forty-six.

Signed, Sealed, Published and Declared by the said Abner
Barlow, the testator as his last will and testament in
the presence of us who at his request have signed our names
as witnesses in the presence of the testator and of each
other.
The word "dollars" twice interlined and the
dates of the receipts being first altered by erasure.

Record of the Proof of the Will of Abner Barlow
County of Ontario
Surrogates Court
Thomas W. Howell of the village of Canandaigua being only
(duly) sworn says that he was the law partner of Walter
Hubbell, late of the said village deceased at the time
of his death which took place on the 25th day of May A.D.
1848. That this deponent found the instrument in writing
now shown him bearing date the 17th day of February 1846,
purporting to be the last will of Abner Barlow late of
the said village deceased, among the law papers of the
said Walter in his office, and that he retained the said
will in his custody until he brought the same to the Surrogates
Office where it was deposited for probate, and that while
the said instrument remained in his keeping it was in no
respect altered or changed, and that it is now in the same
condition as he verily believes as when he found it as
aforsaid. This deponent further says that he is well acquainted
with the handwriting of the said Walter Hubbell and has
seen him write repeatedly and that the signature of Walter
Hubbell of Cananadaigua at the bottom of the said instrument
is the proper hand writing of the said Walter Hubbell,
and was as this deponent verily believes written by him.
Subscribed and sworn in open Court this 17th day of May

Last Will and Testament
of Laura Barlow, daughter of Abner Barlow

| The last will and testament of Laura Barlow of Canandaigua
in the County of Ontario and State of New York.
I, Laura Barlow being infirm in health but of a sound
and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this
my last will and testament as follows, Viz: |
| First: |
I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid
by my Executor out of the avails of my personal property. |
| Second: |
I give to my niece Sarah B. Graves, all my right title
and interest in the house and Lot on which I reside now,
it being an undivided half of said house and Lot, bieng the
south west corner of Lot number three, north of the square
and east side of Main Street, in the village of Canandaigua,
together with all the privileges and appurtances belonging
to the same; Also all of my personal property of every kind
- also Pew No 20 in Congregational Church in Canandaigua. |
| Thirdly and lastly: |
I hereby constitute and appoint James O. Graves of Detroit,
Michigan Executor of this my last will and testament. |
| In witness where of I have hereunto set my
hand and seal this twentieth day of July one thousand eight
hundred and forty seven.
