Jeremiah Fowler, youngest son of Henry Fowler and his wife Rebecca Newell was born about 1671 at Providence RI and died at Eastchester between September 26, 1723 and December 23 1723, the dates of making and probating his will. He married Elizabeth Barlow, sister to Joseph Barlow of Fairfield, Connecticut, daughter of John Barlow, Jr. and his wife Abigail Lockwood, daughter of Robert Lockwood. Elizabeth Barlow was born May 11, 1677, at Fairfield, Connecticut.

Fairfield Town Records in HISTORY OF FAIRFIELD, CONNECTICUT by E.H. Schenke and Genealogy of the BARLOW FAMILY, Vol 1, p. 352., copied by B. Sherman Fowler. She died before 1730 at Westchester. She married second before March 13, 1724, apparently as his second wife, Miles Oakley, Sr. sometime Mayor of Westchester. Miles Oakley, Sr. moved to Harlem before 1733 West Town Book Vol. 58, p.10 of old town records in Comptroller's office, NYC. Miles had a third wife, Hannah (Horton) widow of Thomas Robinson.

Jeremiah apparently married, aged about 19, at about the time, 1692 (not 1691) as before stated. His brother Henry, acting as guardian, purchased for him 20 acres of land "on the Mill Road" in Eastchester deed copied in full by William Fowler of White Plains. He purchased lands adjoining which he devised to his sons and at the time of his death owned the larger part of the land in Eastchester lying below the oldest Post Road. He was elected to various import- ant offices in the town and was Supervisor and Sheriff for the county, and appointed Warden of Westchester Parish, Church of England, representing Eastchester, and served until 1721.   In 1711, "Jeremiah Fowler of Eastchester" was, by his brother William Fowler of Flushing, appointed one of the executors of his will.

As an adult, Jeremiah was baptized in the Episcopal Church at Fairfield, Connecticut, on Jan- uary 13, 1694/5. He was under age at the time of his father's death in 1687, and his brother Henry was appointed his guardian. He was also under age in 1691 at the time he purchased his home in Eastchester and it was purchased for him by his brother, in the capacity of guard- ian. In 1711, Jeremiahsold to Edmund Ward of Fordham, the privilege of commonage in Eastchester.

In 1696, Jeremiah and his wife, Elizabeth, sold to Richard Hadley, lands excepting the house lot in Mamaroneck and with his brother Henry confirmed the title. He took the King's Oath in Eastchester in 1698. In 1701 he sold land in Eastchester to Edmund Ward of Forham. He was mentioned in a deed by his brother as having been one of the patentees of the Long Reach Patent. In 1721 he sold land in "Faulkner's Patent" on the east side of the Bronx River in Fox Meadow in Scarsdale to his son Jeremiah Jr. of Eastchester.

Jeremiah witnessed the will of John Ferris of Westchester in 1715/16 and was executor to the estate of John Slawter of Eastchester in 1719. In 172, his sister Grace Hunt of Westchester widow of John called him "brother Jeremiah Fowler" and appointed him executor of her will.

In his will dated September 26, 1723, Jeremiah devised to his wife Elizabeth, the use of dwelling house and land during l ife; mentioned daughter Abigail Taylor, daughter Mary, son Joseph, devised to son Jonathon land known as "Virginia" and a half interest in land in West- chester; to son Joseph the other half; mentioned son Jeremiah, devised to son Samuel the use of "my dwelling house (etc.) until death or re-marriage of his mother," to son Abraham,land in the Long Reach Patent. Executors wife Elizabeth and son Joseph. Probated December 23, 1723.

On March 13, 1724, Abigail Taylor gave a receipt for her share in her father's estate to her mother, Elizabeth Oakley and brother Joseph Fowler.
