She was daughter of Levi Ray and Araminta Uraline Reeves. Note: Levi Ray and Ann Eliza Barlow, John’s mother, were brother and sister. Married on the 1st day of March 1870 by Rev. H. H. Montgomery Miss Sarah M. Barlow and Victor De Leon of England. Married in Canton, Mississippi January 3rd, 1871 by Rev. H. H. Montgomery Simeon D. Shrewsbury & Miss Mattie Barlow. Married in Sherman Texas August 04, 1897 by Rev. B. E. Fincher Gordon Boone and Miss Emma Shrewsbury. Married in Corpus Christi Texas in the Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. Dr. John W. Shrewsbury. No date entered. Deaths Charles Andrew Barlow departed the cares of this life on the 13th of September, 1855 aged 19 years, 1 month, 1 day. Note: Hunting accident while visiting John E. Barlow Robert James Barlow died on the 28th of April 1857 aged 2 years, 8 months, 16 days. Ann Eliza Barlow died on the 13th day of January 1859, 18 minutes before 7:00 pm, aged 42 years 3 months and 15 days. Note: This was 2 months after the births of her last child Levi Edwin Barlow joined the happy chorus in heaven on the 29th day of June 1859, aged 7 months and 16 days. Gertrude Campbell Barlow joined the happy chorus in heaven on the 28th day of August 1861, aged 1 month. Alonzo Daniel Barlow fell at the battle of Missionary Ridge in Georgia on the 25th day of November 1863, aged 21 years, 1 month, and 2 days. Walter Marvin Barlow died in Canton January 20th 1868, aged 3 years and 5 months. Rev. George C. Light died in Vicksburg, Mississippi on the 28th day of February 1860, aged 75 years. Died in Canton, Mississippi on the 6th day of June 1872, Rev. Alonzo Daniel Barlow aged 59 years, 6 months, 12 days. Died near Little Rock, Arkansas January 1st 1876 our darling sister Alice Ray Barlow. Died in Sherman Texas October 13, 1880 Mattie Barlow Shrewsbury our precious pearl. Pet Eugenia died in Sherman Texas December 4th 1888 and her twin sister Hally died December 19th 1890 aged 13 months. Note: Pet Eugenia is buried at West Hill Cemetery, Sherman,
Grayson Co., Texas according to the records at the cemetery office. Apparently
there is no marker for the grave as there is no record of one and such
could not be found. One of her sisters, simply shown as “infant”
in the cemetery records, is also buried there but there is not a record
for the third sister who died in Sherman. Note from Susan In 1960, this Bible was in the hands of Elizabeth Boone in Corpus Christi, Texas, when my aunt persuaded her to allow copies to be made. Elizabeth was the daughter of Gordon Boone and Emma Shrewsbury, who was the daughter of Martha Leonard Barlow and Simeon Shrewsbury. Martha Leonard Barlow was one of the daughters of Alonzo D. Barlow. Elizabeth Boone never married, and when she died about 20 years ago, I suppose she left things to her sister, Katherine Boone Harrison, who might also be dead by this time, and I don't have any clue where her heirs may be or who might really have the Bible.
