Do you know the parents of this Joseph Barlow 1817
Virginia who married Sarah Robinson - 1818 - Virginia? I suspect
his parents are Joseph Barlow --
1775/1794 -- Virginia -- who married Rachel Thomas -- c1795
Virginia. If so, I believe this Rachel Thomas is a sister to my John
Thomas who married Elizabeth Gross in 1788 in Washington Co Virginia.
This Rachel Thomas would then be a granddaughter of Reuben Thomas
who had land surveyed in Fincastle Co - now Washington Co Virginia
in 1775.

I theorize that possible siblings of this Joseph Barlow --1817--
are:
Sarah "Sally" Barlow /
1814 / who married James Thomas /
1810 Tennessee / on October 24, 1833 in Smyth Co Virginia.
I believe this James Thomas is a son of my John Thomas who married
Elizabeth Gross in 1788. He would also be a grandson of Reuben Thomas,
as mentioned above
Jonathan Barlow /
1820 / spouse: Nancy Thomas / 1827 /
I believe Nancy Thomas is also closely related
to James Thomas /1810 Tennessee / possibly a sister since both Jonathan and
wife Nancy Thomas Barlow live next door to James and Sarah "Sally" Barlow Thomas
in the 1850 Washington Co Virginia census. In other words, siblings Jonathan & Sarah "Sally" Barlow
married siblings Nancy and James Thomas.

Gross / 1827 / is also probably a sibling
Going back one generation, I believe Jacob
Barlow born before 1793, who married Dorcas
Gross, was a brother to the elder Joseph Barlow who married
Rachel Thomas. Dorcas Gross has been proven to be a sister of Elizabeth
Gross who married John Thomas -my g-g-g grandfather- in 1788 in
Washington Co Virginia.
I have copies of letters sent from Jacob Gross to his wife Dorcas
during the War of 1812. He died in that war and Dorcas remarried.
I also believe Solomon
Barlow, born before 1800, was a sibling of the Joseph Barlow
who married Rachel Thomas. Solomon married Lucretia "Cressie" Gross.
Lucretia has also been proven to be a sister of Elizabeth Gross
who married John Thomas in 1788. I have a will and estate distribution
of John Gross, father of Elizabeth, Dorcas, and Lucretia Gross.
