GEORGE BARLOW was born about 1786 in Virginia and died about 1854 in Jackson Co Ohio. (RB)
A George Barlow who died April 08, 1858 is buried in Hale Cemetery, Franklin Twp, Jackson Co Ohio, who might be him. (Cemetery Records, SBH)

He married SARAH UBANKS in 1811. (RB)  She died after the 1860 census, before the 1870 census. (SBH)

Rootsweb World Connect shows them to have come from Caroline Co Virginia. (SBH)

Among their neighbors are Burns, Hale, and Howe. (SBH)    I was unable to locate George and Sarah prior to 1850 with any certainty.  He could be the George listed in the 1830 and 1840 census of Mecklenberg Co Virginia. (SBH)

MARY ANN BARLOW, born c1815.  Some researchers show her to be married to JOHN BURT, but according to Ohio Death Records, she was born c1823, and was the daughter of George Barlow and N. Krause.  (SBH)

ELIZABETH BARLOW, born c1827 in Virginia.    She married CREIGHTON HOWE (AC) He apparently died before 1850.
In the 1850 census, Elizabeth Howe, age 23, is living in the home with George and Sarah Barlow, along with son, James C. Howe, age 2.  In 1860, she is know longer in the home, I assume she is deceased, but James remains, and is age 11. (SBH)   AC shows Elizabeth's death as 24 September 24, 1846, but she is listed in the 1850 census.

MILDRED BARLOW, daughter of George and Sarah, born c1831, and died August 01, 1849, age 18 years, burial in Hale Cemetery, Franklin Twp, Jackson Co Ohio (Cemetery Records, SBH)

WILLIAM BARLOW, perhaps a son of George Barlow and Sarah Ubanks, was born c1820 in Virginia, and probably died before 1860, perhaps in Gallia Co Ohio. (1850 census, SBH)

He married LUCINDA BURNS on November 21, 1844 or 45. (Rootsweb, LDS, SBH)  She is the daughter of Thomas Burns.  She too, was most likely deceased by 1860, perhaps also in Gallia Co Ohio. 

WILLIAM JEFFERSON BARLOW, born February 1847 (1900 census, SBH) or October 15, 1846 in Jackson Co Ohio (Rootsweb), and died March 25, 1920 in Uniontown, Bourbon Co Kansas.  

GEORGE W. BARLOW, probably a son of George Barlow and Sarah Ubanks, was born c1822 in Virginia, and died after 1880, before 1900, probably in Jackson Co Ohio.  (SBH)

He married LEVICY/LAWRENCE/LOUISA / LUCRETIA / LINNY BURNS (AC)    The spelling of her name varies from census to census.(SBH)   She was born in April 1827 in Virginia, (SBH, 1900 census) and died after 1910, probably in Daviess Co Missouri. (SBH, 1910 census)
Is she a sister to Lucinda Burns, wife of George's brother, William?

In 1900, Lurecy, shown as Louisa, age 73 is living with son, Thomas in Daviess Co Missouri        In 1910,  at age 82, Lucy is still living with Thomas

LAQUINCY 'QUINCY' BARLOW, born c1853, died March 29, 1879 in Franklin Twp, Jackson Co Ohio, at age 26 years, 1 month, and 17 days. (Ohio Death Records, SBH)

PETER BARLOW, born c1853 in Jackson Co Ohio.
He married MARY ANGELINE BEATTY on October 02, 1879, Jackson Co Missouri.  In 1880 Franklin Twp, Jackson Co Ohio, he lived next to his parents, his age 27, his wife ANGELINE was 29.  I was unable to locate them in 1900.   They had at least one son, Peter Afonden Barlow, born April 27, 1881 (LDS, SBH)

LOUISE/LOUISA BARLOW, born c1856, died March 18, 1879 in Franklin Twp, Jackson Co Ohio, at age 23 years, 1 month and 1 day. (Ohio Death Records, SBH)

He married LUCINDA NALLY (RB) on 10 August 1854.  The daughter of William Nally and Martha / Patsy Gillespie, she was born 20 March 1838 in Jackson Co Ohio, and died 03 January 1916 in Harrison Co Missouri, burial in Miriam Cemetery, Harrison Co Missouri (SBH, cemetery records, see note below)

Information for Lucinda from Rootsweb World Connect Project, contributed by Bradley McLeod who gives his source as the book 'Johnson Relatives by Emma Susan Johnson, compiled by Cecil Calder Garrason.' It was privately published by the compiler at Newark, N.J. in 1969.  The book contains the family of William Nally.  The Spokane Public Library has a copy of this book.

A William Barlow, age 48, lives in Bethany Twp, Harrison Co Missouri, that might be related to this family.

He married 2. SAREPTA SMITH on January 30, 1860 in Jackson Co Ohio  (SBH, Ohio Marriage Records)  She was born March 1841 in Ohio, and died after 1910.

JOHN W. BARLOW, born March 1856 (1900 census, SBH) in Jackson Co Ohio. He may be a son of William Barlow and Lucinda Burns.

THOMAS J. BARLOW, born  c1861 in Jackson Co Ohio    (SBH)  I was unable to locate him in 1900, but in 1910, at age 48, he is in the Infirmary at Lick, Jackson Co Ohio, along with 3 Barlow children, HARRY, age 7, EDWARD, age 5, and JAMES, age 2.   I was unable to locate Thomas again in 1920.   I find in Hale Cemetery Records:  SOPHIA BARLOW, wife of Thomas Barlow, daughter of George Barlow, died January 29, 1886, age 26 years 7 months 25 days.  Was this his wife, and which George was her father?

DAVID A. BARLOW, born December 1863 in Jackson Co Ohio    (SBH, 1900 census), still alive in 1920.

BENSON BARLOW, born April 1878 (1900 census, SBH) or April 25, 1877, (LDS, SBH) in Jackson Co Ohio.  He lived with his brother, David in 1900.  In 1910, Jackson Co Ohio, he was 34, married for 5 years to ORA, 21, who was in her 2nd marriage.  His mother, Sarepta lived with him, her age 69, a widow who had borned 11 children, 7 living.  Also living in the home was Samuel Viddo?, age 13, his brother-in-law.

DAVID ALLEN BARLOW, son of William Jefferson Barlow and Lucinda Burns, (A.Crawford) was born August 08, 1845 in Portland, Meigs Co Ohio, and died August 27, 1905. (LDS, SBH)  

He married MARYETTA MANERING (A Crawford), on March 10. 1868 (LDS, SBH)   The daughter of William Charles Manering and Sarah Ann Shields, she was born November 18, 1851 in Jackson Co Ohio, and died May 27 _____  in Lock Springs, Daviess Co Ohio. (LDS, SBH)

MARGARET ALICE BARLOW, born July 07, 1869 in Jackson Co Ohio, and died November 29, 1936.  (LDS, SBH)
She married EDWIN ROBERT CHEATHAM.  (LDS, SBH)  They lived in Livingston Co Missouri in 1900, but the census is almost illegible.  I was unable to find them in 1910 or 1920.

LEWIS E. BARLOW, born September 1872 in Jackson Co Ohio.  In 1900, Lewis, born September 1872 is living with the Burns family in Chula, Livingston Co Missouri.  I was unable to locate him after 1900.

LESLIE BARLOW, born c1896 in Missouri    (1910 census, SBH)  I did not find him in a 1920 census. (SBH)   SSDI shows Leslie Barlow, born January 25, 1897, and died April 1978. (SBH)

WILLIAM JEFFERSON BARLOW, (SBH) probable son of William Barlow, was born February 1847 (1900 census), or October 15, 1846 in Jackson Co Ohio, (Rootsweb), and died March 25, 1920 in Uniontown, Bourbon Co Kansas.   

He married NANCY JANE LILE on March 26, 1868 in Livingston Co Missouri.  The daughter of Allen Parker Lile and Mary Cox, she was born September 08, 1848 or 49 in Chillicothe, Livington Co Missouri, and died October 10, 1930 in Yellow Jacket, Montezuma Co Colorado.

GEORGE HENRY BARLOW, born January 1876 (1900 census) or January 07, 1877 (Rootsweb) in Missouri, (and died January 1950 in Cortez, Montezuma Co Colorado

THOMAS BARLOW, son of George W. and Levicy Barlow, was born April 1852 in Jackson Co Ohio, (SBH, 1900), and died between 1920-30.

He married FANNIE c1875 in Ohio.   She was born August 1852 in Ohio     Both Thomas and Fannie were still living in 1920. In 1930 Thomas is deceased, and Fannie, age 78 is living with her son, Thomas Clayton in Jameson, Daviess Co Missouri.

Lucy stated she had been married 40 years, had 10 children born, 10  living, an obvious error ..... In 1900, she had 13 children, 5 living...

He married MARY ELIZABETH   'LIZZIE'  She was born (October 1859, 1900 census) October 16, 1860 (cemetery record) and died March 27, 1933, burial in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, Harrison Co Missouri. (SBH, cemetery records)   Census index of Bethany, Harrison Co Missouri shows her to be 69 years old. (SBH)

MABEL INO BARLOW, born March 10, 1884 in Missouri, and died September 12, 1985, burial in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, Harrison Co Missouri.
She married LESLIE R. KAUTZ of Missouri.  In the 1910 census, they lived in Kingston Twp, Caldwell Co Missouri, married 1 year, no children.  In 1920, they were living next door to her parents, George and Elizabeth, and had one child, GEORGE.  I do not know who the child shown in the 1910 household of George, and am not sure she is listed as a grandchild, but I think that is what it said.
