She was a Sunday school teacher from the time she was 16 until after she was 75. Maggie died January 26, 1926 in Tarrant Co Texas DC#3355. About 1877 family moved to Texas by covered wagon and settled at Round Rock, Texas, moving from there to Corn Hill, Williamson Co Texas. They also lived at one point in Salado, Texas. He volunteered at start of Civil War and served through entire war under Bedford Forrest.

Walker was called "Willie", & either he or his wife (unclear which) died October 01, 1889 at Corn Hill, Williamson Co Texas and is  buried in Taylor City Cemetery, lot 38, block 4

Ima Christina Barlow, teacher, daughter of Walter Anthony and Ida 'Jackson' Barlow, was born in Williamson County, Texas, on February 11, 1899.   She graduated from Taylor High School and entered the University of Texas.   She began teaching in a one-room rural school and alternated teaching and university studies until she graduated.  Among other places, she taught in Beaumont, Vernon, San Marcos, and Brownwood while she completed an M.A. in history. While in Brownwood she applied for a position teaching European history at West Texas State Teachers College -- now West Texas A&M University.   As she later stated, President Joseph A. Hill said to "come on up and they'd see how I worked out."   She remained at the institution for thirty-four years.

Barlow completed the Ph.D. degree in 1939 under the directorship of Professor Thad W. Riker and published her dissertation, a study of the Agadir crisis, the following year.

Although her teaching specialization and research interests centered on modern Europe, Barlow was a well-informed Texas historian, having studied under professors Eugene C. Barker and Walter Prescott Webb.   She co-authored a junior high school Texas history text, occasionally taught the senior-level course in Texas history, and supervised many master's thesis relating  to Texas topics.
She was an active member of the  Panhandle-Plains Historical Society, contributed to the Panhandle-Plains Historical Review, and edited the journal for four years ....... 1949-52. For many years she sponsored a campus honor society designed to encourage and recognize academic achievement of freshman and sophomore students.

She was a Methodist and a member of the Texas State Teachers Association. She retired in 1964 and moved to Austin, where she continued research and pursued other interests.
She died in Austin on October 13, 1990, and is buried in Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Barlow is made reference to in the following bibliography of Lester Sheffy Fields from the vertical files of Barker Texas History Center, University of Texas at Austin

He edited the Panhandle ­ Plains Historical Review for eighteen years.   He was active in the drive to secure funds for construction of the Panhandle ­ Plains Historical Museum and was a fellow of the Texas State Historical Association.

His publications included The Life and Times of Timothy Dwight Hobart, 1855-1935 (1950), The Francklyn Land and Cattle Company - 1963 - and ..... with Ima Christina Barlow and  Alyce McWilliams ... Texas 1954.

Carl Anthony Barlow Sr.4 was born September 29, 1902 in Granger, Texas and died June 07, 1984 in Austin, Travis Co, Texas.

He married June 08, 1927 to Jeanette Parker, daughter of Joseph "J.J." Parker & Hattie Caperton .  She died 18 Mar 1997 Travis

Carl was manager of Ernst & Ernst Accounts, Alamo National Bldg, San Antonio.   Received CPA Certificate in 1936.

He attended University of Texas, was a member of the American Institute of Accountants, a member of the Oak Hill Country Club, and retired as comptroller of Longhorn Portland Cement in San Antonio.

Jeanette  was known to everyone as "Honey" rather  than  Jeanette and was very active in the Methodist Church.

Carl, author of this lineage, grew up in Dallas, went to University of Illinois 1981-1985
B.S. in Computer Science from College of Engineering, and served in U.S. Navy as an Ensign and a LtJG aboard the U.S.S. Robison (DDG-12) until March 1990, when he started working for Symitar Systems in San Diego, a software company that writes software for credit unions nationwide.
