JAMES WILEY BARLOW2 (William1) son of William Barlow and Edy Mathoda born 18 November 1810 in Washington Co Georgia and died 03 March 1914. [CR] The 1900 census shows his birth as November 1813.

He married ANCY HARTLEY on 30 May 1839 Wilkinson Co Georgia by William Vincent, J.P. [GMR] The daughter of Hillary Hartley and Rhoda Mason, [FR] she was born 14 August 1822, and died 15 April 1908. [CR]  Both are buried at Stuckey First Baptist Church Cemetery in Glenwood, Wheeler Co Georgia.

MARY ANN BARLOW3, born November 1840 in Georgia, and died 14 August 1925 in Washington Co Georgia, DC #23864     Researchers are showing her as the daughter of Henry Barlow and Rhoda Harrell, but I kept thinking she was more likely the daughter of James and Ancy. I have gotten a copy of her death certificate, which will prove she is indeed, the daughter of James and Ancy Barlow.

MARY ANN BARLOW3 (James2,William1) daughter of James Barlow and Ancy Ward, was born November 1840, [C] and died 14 August 1925 in Washington Co Georgia, Death Certificate # 23864-G [GDR]   Researchers are showing her as the daughter of Henry Barlow and Rhoda Harrell, but I kept thinking she was more likely the daughter of James and Ancy. I have gotten a copy of her death certificate, which will prove she is indeed, the daughter of James and Ancy Barlow.

She married JEREMIAH WARD on 29 October 1857 in Wilkinson Co Georgia by S.T. Player, J.P. [GMR]  Probable son of Ignacious Ward and Sarah Pierce, who lived a few doors from them in 1880. [C]  Jeremiah was born c1834, and died 15 December 1862 in Richmond Virginia, while serving in the Civil War. [MR]

Jeremiah Ward enlisted as a private in the 49th Regiment of the Georgia, Co A on March 04, 1862 in Wilkinson Co Georgia, and died on 15 December 1862 of disease in the hospital at Richmond Virginia.  (M226, Roll 63, Historical Military Records)

GEORGE W. WARD4, born May 1859. [C]   In 1900 Washington Co Georgia, George W. Ward, born May 1860, is a servant in the home of Daniel Womack.  (Census Image)   In 1920, the only person I find who might be him is living in Montgomery Co Georgia, a 50 year old cousin in the home of John T. and Annie M. Brantley, a name associated with this Barlow line  (Census Image) 

WILLIAM HILLERY 'BUCK' BARLOW3 (James2, William1) son of James Barlow and Ancy Hartley, was born 28 December 1846 in Georgia, and died 15 July 1927 in Wilkinson Co Georgia, DC #18023-I [GDR,CR] His death certificate shows his middle name to be Hildreth.

He married JENNIE REBECCA 'JANE' JOHNSON. The daughter of J.R. Johnson and Amanda Ivey, she was born May 1850, [C] and died 20 January 1927 in Wilkinson Co Georgia. [CR] Both are buried Barlow Family Cemetery, Wilkinson Co Georgia

ANCY VIRGINIA BARLOW3 (James2, William1) daughter of James Barlow and Ancy Hartley, was born 23 September 1854, Wilkinson Co Georgia, and died 26 September 1933 in Wilkinson Co Georgia, DC #22104 [GDR]

She married GREEN B. WARD on 14 September 1871. The son of William Fort Ward and Martha, [GMR,C] he was born 28 October 1851 [C,FR] in Wilkinson Co Georgia, and died 07 March 1921, probably in Twiggs Co Georgia. [FR]  I did not find a Georgia death record for him.

CORLIE WOOD WARD, born 16 June 1889, [FR] and died 20 January 1953 in Wilkinson Co Georgia, DC #2373 [GDR]

BERTHA WARD, born 19 August 1894, [C,SSDI] and died 11 May 1974 in Twiggs Co Georgia, DC #017005. [GDR,SSDI]
She married JOHN FREEMAN LAVENDER. Born 07 March 1891, [C,DR] he was the son of Erasmus Bryan Lavender and Minnie Johnson [C,GMR] of Wilkinson Co Georgia, and a brother to Jewell who married her brother, Corlie. He died 09 September 1975 in Wilkinson Co Georgia, DC #029169. [GDR]   They were enumerated in Wilkinson Co Georgia in 1920 and 1930, they had no children.

NANCY JANE 'NANNIE' BARLOW3, (James2, William1) daughter of James Wiley Barlow and Ancy Hartley, was born 02 June 1857 in Wilkinson Co Georgia, [FR] and died 10 August 1937 in Laurens Co Georgia, DC #21025 [GDR]

She married JOEL LEVI USSERY on 23 December 1874.  [GF] The son of Samuel A. Ussery and Emaline Prudence Bush, [GF] he was born 30 December 1851 [GF] and died 25 June 1934 in Laurens Co Georgia, DC #16214. [GDR]  Both are buried in Mt Carmel Cemetery, Dexter, Laurens Co Georgia. [GF]

JAMES SAMUEL USSERY4, born 15 December 1875, and died 08 December 1937.     He married LILLIE VERNA DOE.  In the 1930 census of Towns, Telfair Co Georgia, a few doors from Thomas W. Barlow, James was age 55, Lillie, 28, shown as newly married, so if children were born, it would have been after that year

She married WYLIE J. STRIPLING on 18 April 1910. [FB] The son of William M. Stripling and Nora C., [C] he was born April 1883 in Georgia, [C] and died 30 June 1952 in Laurens Co Georgia, DC #16245, [GDR]   They had no children. 

AUGUSTUS WILEY BARLOW3, (James2, William1) was born 20 July 1864 [FR,C] in Wilkinson Co Georgia, and died 12 February 1953 in Statesboro, Bulloch Co Georgia, DC #5352, [GDR] burial in Brannen Cemetery, Bulloch Co Georgia. [FR]

He married 1) MATTIE JOINER on 24 February 1889. [FR]  The daughter of Jesse G. and Susan Joiner, she was born 29 December 1869, [FR] and died 28 April 1909 in Stuckey, Wheeler Co Georgia,[FR] burial in Stuckey First Baptist Church Cemetery in Glenwood, Wheeler Co Georgia next to James and Ancy Barlow. [FR]
He married 2) EULA BELL WADE / RAY on 12 September 1909. [FR] She was born 30 October 1880 in Stewart Co Georgia, [CR,FR] and died 11 January 1940 in Bulloch Co Georgia, DC #2958, [GDR] burial in Brannen Cemetery, Bulloch Co Georgia. [FR]

JAMES ALGIN BARLOW, born 15 April 1895 in Washington Co Georgia, and died 10 April 1966 in Palo Alto California. [FR]   I did not locate a death record in the California Death Index.
He married JUNE WARD.  [CDR,FR] She was born 20 June 1887 in  Illinois, and died 12 January 1979 in Palo Alto, Santa Clara Co California, DC #555821646.  [CDR] Both are buried in Memorial Park, Palo Alto, Santa Clara Co California [FR]

DAISY OREITA BARLOW, born 21 February 1905 in Washington Co Georgia, and died November 2002 in Corpus Christi, Nueces Co Texas.  

CLARA BELLE BARLOW, born 15 November 1907 [FR] in Stuckey, Wheeler Co Georgia, and died 29 January 1985 in Georgia. [FR] SSDI shows Clara B. Daugharty born 15 November 1907 in Georgia, and died 21 December 1987 in Jacksonville, Duval Co Florida, while the Florida death records shows birth correctly, but shows the death as 29 January 1988.

ROBERT DOKE BARLOW, twin to Rudolph, born 12 June 1914 in Wheeler Co Georgia, and died 04 January 1974 in Effingham Co Georgia, DC #002522 [GDR]  Enlisted military, 25 November 1940 in Statesboro, Bulloch Co Georgia.  He married BLUE BELLE BRINSON  [FR]

WALTER ANDREW BARLOW, born 23 March 1916 in Wheeler Co Georgia, and died 14 February 1992 in Columbia, Lexington / Richland Co South Carolina.  Enlisted WWI on 14 November 1945 in Savannah, Chatham Co Georgia.    He married WILMA GAY  [FR]

JEREMIAH JACKSON WARD4, (Mary3, James2, William1), son of Mary Ann Barlow and Jeremiah Ward, was born October 1863 in Georgia, [C] and died 04 January 1937 in Washington Co Georgia, DC #2100 [GDR]

By 1900, Jeremiah is already a widower, thus I was unable to determine whom he married, but he has a 1 year old daughter.   Jeremiah married 2)  MARY F. , perhaps MCCALLISTER, c1900. [C]  She died 01 May 1934 in Washington Co Georgia, Death Certificate #14345. [GDR]

KING SAMUEL WARD4, (Mary3,James2,William1), son  of Jeremiah Ward and Mary Ann Barlow, was born January 1869 in Georgia, died 28 September 1938 in Candler Co Georgia, Death Certificate #22335, [GDR,CR] burial in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Emanuel Co Georgia.[A]      (Most information for this family from Walter Coleman, Ancestry.com)

He married 1)  ANNA LAURA EDENFIELD c1891. [A]  She was born 25 December 1868, and died 21 June 1899 in Emanuel Co Georgia, burial in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Emanuel Co Georgia.[A]
He married 2) IDA JANE NEAL on 08 October 1899 in Emanuel Co Georgia. [A]   The daughter of James Albert Neal and Sarah Jane Turner, [A] she was born 04 June 1877 in Emanuel Co Georgia, and died 10 January 1928 in Emanuel Co Georgia, Death Certificate #984-J, [GDR] burial in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Emanuel Co Georgia.[A]
He apparently married 3) KATIE between 1928-1930. [C]

She married DONALD RICHARDSON. [A] He was born 09 October 1891, and died 19 July 1976.  [A] [not found in GDR or SSDI]  Both are buried in Bethel Church Cemetery, Emanuel Co Georgia. [A]

WILLIE SAMUEL WARD, born 10 May 1896, and died 03 December 1947 in Emanuel Co Georgia [A] [not found in GDR or SSDI]
He married LOTTIE MAE SUTTON.  The daughter of William Jerry Sutton and Mattie Lanier, [A] she was born 25 July 1903, and died 01 January 1961.  [not found in GDR or SSDI]    Both are buried in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Emanuel Co Georgia. [A]

JAMES OLEN WARD, born born April 1898 in Georgia, and died 12 June 1947 in Candler Co Georgia, Death Certificate #11786 [GDR,A]
He married ADA PEARL SUTTON in 1923. [A] The daughter of William Jerry Sutton and Mattie Lanier, and sister of Lottie Sutton, she was born 18 March 1900 in Emanuel Co Georgia, and died 10 December 1953 in Candler Co Georgia, Death Certificate #27168. [A,GDR]  Both are buried in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Emanuel Co Georgia. [A]

She married LANGDON LAFAR SLATER.  The son of Langdon LaFar Slater and Martha Martin, he was born 26 October 1900, and died 13 February 1972, Death Certificate #015322.  [A,GDR] Both are buried in in Lake Cemetery, Candler Co Georgia. [A]
