Herbert H. Barlow, Retired Realty Man Dies at 97 -- Father
of Stockbroker Here
Herbert H. Barlow, retired real estate man and father
of Henry M. Barlow of Green Farms Conn., a member of the
New York Stock Exchange firm of Carreau & Co., died
on Tuesday in the Springfield (Mass.) Hospital after a
ten-week illness. His age was 97.
Born in Belchertown, Mass., Mr. Barlow
was descended from
George Barlow, who settled
at Exeter, N.H., and from Capt.
Wyatt Barlow, an American Revolutionary soldier. For
more than seventy years he lived at Enfield, Mass. He was
a member of the Enfield COngregational Church during that
time and had served as deacon, trustee, collector and treasurer.
In 1929 he became deacon emeritus. He was later a member
of the South Congregational Church of Springfield.
