Descendants of  Daniel Barlor / Barlow - Susannah Beemon and Rhoda Crisler

Daniel is the son of Christopher Barlow, Jr. and Catherine Fleishman

The Germanna Record, Second Germanna Colony of 1717
Issue __   pg 15 & 16 states:

"Christopher Barler's wife was named Catherine, and it seems certain that she was a daughter of Peter Fleshman and a granddaughter of Cyriacus Fleshman; for on Dec. 13, 1773 Adam Cook, Christopher Barlow, and Christopher Rhiner agreed to take the estate of Peter Fleshman, decd., at the valuation of George Hume, Adam Wayland, and John Zimmermann, and to make bond in case any one of them forfeited the agreement - Culpeper Co. D. B. "G", p. 222. This agreement was signed not only by the three men mentioned, but also by John and Peter Fleshman, sons of the deceased; so that the three other men seem unquestionably to be sons-in-law."

The will of Christopher Barlow, father of Daniel Barlow dated 15 March 1807 and probated 28 June 1810 Madison Co Virginia, names his children as:

Joseph Barlow    Ephraim Barlow    Michael Barlow    Aron Barlow
Daniel Barlow     Mary Millbank     Margaret Delph

The other thirteen children were listed as heirs in the land division of Daniel Barlow listed in Will Book H. 02 Feb 1864.  A copy of the Land division was drawn out and listed as Boone County Court October Term 1864. Each of the heirs were named by name except Milly Anderson and her's was listed as Milly Anderson heirs since she died 10 July 1857.

Our only thinking as to why the heirs of Mary B. Barlow's were not listed is they probably lost track of the family.  Mary B. Barlow Slack died 1821 in Hardin Co Kentucky.  Richard married 2nd Sarah Wooldridge on August 1822 in Hardin Co Kentucky.  Prior to 1830 he had moved the family to Logan Co Kentucky.  By 1860 the family had scattered further as my ancestor Louisa J. Slack, daughter of Richard Slack and Mary B. Barlow had married William Bryant and moved into Mississippi Co Missouri.

The land documents are very hard to read, but should anyone want a copy, email Sue Maxwell
