Blewford Barlow, Jr., grandson of Lewis Barlow and Judah Frances Smith was born 09 October 1816 in Kentucy, the son of Blewford Barlow, Sr. and Elizabeth Barlow. He died 19 October 1882 in Lee Township, Polk Co Iowa, burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Polk Co Iowa     Tombstone photo from Find-a-Grave

He married Clarissa Fitz Randolph on on 27 August 1840 in Shelby Co Indiana. She was born 18 April 1824 in Union Township, Warren Co, Ohio and died 18 January 1888 in Four Mile Township, Polk Co Iowa, burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Polk Co Iowa. She was the daughter of David Fitz Randolph and Jemima Harvey or Jemima Weatherby.

WPA grave index, page 51 shows Blewford's parents:
Blewford Barlow Sr. and Elizabeth are buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Polk Co Iowa
Blewford Sr., died 15 April 1858, age 70 years, 8 months, and 11 days.
Elizabeth is buried beside Blewford, and the only date given is her birthdate, 27 April 1796.

U.S. census records indicate that this Barlow family came fom Kentucky to Indiana between 1820 and 1824, and history show that they removed to Iowa in 1846.

He married Rachel E. Runyon 10 January 1861 in Polk Co Iowa.  She was born 21 February 1840 in Shelby Co Indiana, and died 31 January 1930 in Hastie, Four Mile Township, Polk Co Iowa, burial in Oakwood Cemetery. She was the daughter of Solomon and Nancy "Lehman" Runyon.

David W. "Willis" Barlow was born 16 January 1880 and died 11 September 1942 in Des Moines, Polk Co Iowa. Burial was in Youngstown Cemetery, presently known as Oakwood.

Death certificate provided by Ida Barlow Camling   David was a banker in Des Moine and a farmer near Runnels. He never married.

George Washington2 Barlow was boorn in September of 1842 in Jackson Township, Shelby Co Indiana and died 11 March 1929 in Ottumwa, Wapello Co Iowa, burial is in Ottumwa.

He married Martha Anne Wilson in 1885, daughter of William and Sidney 'Leen' Wilson. She was born 24 November 1861 in Polk Co Iowa and died 21 September 1922 at 306 Tindall Avenue in Center Township, Wapello Co Iowa, and is buried in Ottumwa Cemetery.

George told his grandchildren of experiences in their journey from Indiana to Iowa about 1847.   He said they were on a riverboat in shallow water pulled by ropes and teams and that their wagon was burned by Indians.

George received a 240 acre homestead from his parents in Polk Co, but lost it in 1896 while gambling. He moved his family to Ottumwa in the spring of 1897 where he and his brother, Blewford, worked for Morrell Packing Co.

George Barlow was a Civil War Veteran.

Joseph2 Barlow was born c1847 in Jackson Township, Shelby Co Indiana, & died btn 1895 - 1905.

He married Ellnorah Fitz Randolph on 27 January 1872 in Polk Co Iowa.  Ellnorah was born 02 November 1847 in Indiana, and died 11 April 1887 in Polk Co Iowa, burial is in Oakwood Cemetery in that county.  According to census records, her father was born in Ohio, and her mother in Maryland.    Tombstone Photo from Find-a-Grave.com

5. Henry2 Barlow was born c1850 in Lee Township, Polk Co Iowa.

He married Lucinda Fitz Randolph on 03 December 1869.   She was born in 1851, her father born in Ohio, and mother born in Maryland, she was probably the sister to Ellnorah who married Joseph Barlow.

  1880 Polk Co Iowa census   Henry was not found in the Iowa 1885 census.
1894 directory shows him to be a school teacher living at 1300 Capitol Avenue in Des Moines Iowa
1928 directory shows him living on E. 37th St. in Los Angeles California

Henry Charles3 Barlow, known as Hank, was born 30 May 1886 in the village of Hastie, Lee Township, Polk Co Iowa. and died 25 October 1952 in Ottumwa Iowa. Burial was in Shaw Cemetery in Ottumwa.

He married 1. Helen Mae Lewis on 22 February 1910 in Ottumwa Iowa.  She was born 04 September 1889 in Oskaloosa Mahaska Co Iowa, and died 11 November 1918 in Sioux Falls South Dakota, burial is in Ottumwa Iowa. She was the daughter of Jonathan and Mary "Flockhart" Lewis.

He married 2. Eva Cleo Morris, on 22 February 1922. She was born to William and Catherine "Dean" Morris on 25 June 1885 in Bethany Missouri, and died 29 June 1958 in Denver Colorado, burial also in Denver

She married Robert Lewis McDaniel in Lancaster Missouri.   Robert was born to Roy H. and Catherine "Whittsett" McDaniel in Denver Colorado.  He served in WWII, 82nd Airborne Division, European Theatre, "Battle of the Bulge"

Harry James3 Barlow, known as Jerry, was born 31 August 1887 in Hastie, E. Des Moines, Polk Co Iowa, and died 31 January 1957, burial in Shaw Cemetery, Ottumwa, Iowa.

He married Helen "Ellen" Flockhart, daughter of Adam and Elizabeth "Lewis" Flockhart. Helen was born 18 April 1889 and died 14 November 1940 in Ottumwa. She is buried in Agency Iowa.  Helen and Jerry divorced and Helen married Steve Richmond in 1933.

Darlene Alva Barlow was born 04 March 1917.
She married Joe Johnson in Lancaster Missouri. Joe was born 23 February 1898 in England and died 30 April 1960.   No children born to this couple.
 
Harold Albert Barlow, known as "Jack", born 11 December 1921, and died on 06 July 1955.
He married Bernice Skinner, who was killed in 1948 in a car accident.
One daughter was born to Jack and Bernice. She was raised by Dorothy Madge Young and Lester Van Byers.

Fern Wilson Barlow was born 02 January 1891 in Hastie, Polk Co Iowa and died 23 November 1943 in Omaha, Nebraska, burial in Graceland Park Cemetery in Omaha.

She married Harry Miller on 25 July 1907 in Keosauqua Iowa.  Harry was born 10 October 1884 in Moverly Missouri, and died 28 September 1962 in Omaha Nebraska, burial in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Ruth Helen4 Miller was born 15 May 1908 in Ottumwa, Wapello Co Iowa.
She married Ancil Clay McGinnis on 16 December 1926.   Ancil was born on 31 July 1900 in Weeping Water, Nebraska.  2 children born to this couple
  Raymond Miller was born 18 May 1910 and died 11 April 1925.
 
Donald Miller was born 18 January 1914 and died 13 February 1916 in Omaha.
  Asa Miller was born 16 September 1915 in Omaha Nebraska.    He married Kathryn Ann Pallas on 24 May 1940.   They had two children both born in Omaha.
  Marjorie Miller was born 04 September 1918.
She married 1. Elmer Morsch in 1943. Elmer died 27 June 1969.     She married 2. Lucian D. Kwiatkowski on 28 October 1961
  Dorothy Miller was born 10 August 1921 and died 02 September 1931.
  Dale Miller was born in Omaha.
 
9. Terry Richard3 'Dick' Barlow, was born 24 November 1892 in Hastie, Polk Co Iowa

He married 1. Emma Storch/Stork - German in 1912 in Sioux Falls South Dakota.

He married 2. Lottie Anderson who was born of Norweigan descent, in Thief River Minnesota to George and Nettie Anderson.

She married twice, the first husband's name is unknown, second husband is Albert A. Smith.

Merle Rubena Barlow was born 02 December 1896 in Hastie, Polk Co Iowa and died 01 September 1965 in Ottumwa, Wapello Co Iowa, burial in Ottumwa Cemetery.

She married 1. Grant Ulysses Young on 01 September 1914.    He was born 06 June 1891 to Charles Brigham and Mary Annette "Wells" Young.  He died 13 October 1961 in Balboa Orange Co California, and is buried in Westminster  Memorial Cemetery in Orange Co.

She married 2. Clair Wignall

Dorothy Madge4 Young was born 08 February 1914 in Ottumwa, Wapello Co Iowa.
She married Lester Van Byers of Douds Iowa on 31 May 1935.    Lester was born 16 October 1906 in Van Buren Co Iowa, the son of Edward Jefferson and Nora "Loomis" Byers.
They had 5 children, and raised the daughter of Harold and Berniece Barlow, after her father died young, and her mother was killed in a car accident.
 
Beverly Orpha Young was born 17 June 1916 in Ottumwa, Wapello Co Iowa.
She married Albert Lee Leatherby in 1934.   Albert was born to Ernest and Nellie "Sheehy" Leatherby on 11 December 1916.   3 children born to this couple
