In a letter written to a Mrs. Winn, who was researching the Barlows in Shelby Co some years back, she writes that she was enclosing a copy of the deed records for Jermiah where he purchased land in 1884 and he and his wife Mary, sold it in 1831. The records were checked to 1852.
There were other Barlows in this county early and they were probably related. I find no records of Jeremiah's marriage here.

Lewis Barlow, aged 75 comes before the
court declaring that in order to obtain a pension, states that he enlisted
for two years in September 1776 in Virginia in a company commanded by Captain
James Wood in the line of the state
of Virginia in the Continental Establishment
and served until October 1779 when he was discharged in New York State.
He did have 100 acres of land which has
since been sold.
His family consists of 4: Judah
aged 75, Elizabeth 28, (a cripple), George C. c.12 and Bluford aged
c.10
