        Jeremiah Baird Eells, (1732-1815), was lieutenant in the Connecticut Coast Guards when captured by Tories, 1777, and was a prisoner two years
        John Eells, (1755-1832), served as a fifer under Capt. Daniel Benedict, 1776, and as corporal under Captain Reuben Scofield, 1779
        John Mead, (1726-88), served in the Legislature nineteen years. He was colonel in the New York campaign and subsequently commanded the Fourth Brigade.

        Nathan Hatch, (1757-1841), enlisted at Alstead N. H., 1777, and gave one year's

        actual service in the New Hampshire Line. He was placed on the pension roll of
        Washington County, New York 1832 and died at Fort Miller.

        Jonathan Giddings, (1741-1817), commanded a scouting party and endured great

        hardship. He was wounded and obtained an honorable discharge. 
        He was born in Lyme, Connecticut, died in Sherman. His wife fed the soldiers when they were encamped near them on the Housatonic River.
