JEREMIAH BARLOW    Private, Co A 10th IN Cavalry - 121st Volunteers, organized December 1863 to April 1864 at Columbus, Vincennes, Terre Haute, New Albany and Indianapolis Indiana, mustered out August 31, 1865.
Emily adds:   He was born in Overton Co Tennessee c1845. He enlisted November 20, 1863 at Mt. Vernon, Indiana for a three year period. He was mustered in at Columbus, Indiana on 30 April 1864 and joined Captain Milner's Co 10th Regiment, Indiana Cavalry. At the time, he was 18 years old 5'4", dark complexion, with grey eyes and light hair. He was captured at the Battle of Nashville on 16 or 17 December 1864. He was released and was apparently on his way home on the steamer Sultana on the Missisippi River on 27 April 1865 when he was killed due to the explosion of the boilers of the steamship. His muster out record states that he was mustered out at Vicksburg, Mississippi on 31 August 1865 but notes that he had been killed by the explosion of the Sultana on May 18, 1865 [sic]. A further note states that the final statements were sent 18 May 1865 but that he had been killed 27 April 1865.
