Veterans
of Calloway County, Missouri from: Cole
County Daily Tribune 19
October 1879
In his official report, General Parson called
to the especial attention of Governor Jackson
to the ability of Colonel Kelly in handling
the infantry of his division.
The daring and valor of Captain Guibor and Lieutenant Barlow of the artillery
on the field that day raised that arm of the service to an envious position
in the state Guard. The general was gallantly sustained on the fields
by all his staff.
