Horace Frederick1 Ball was born 1823 in New York.

He married Sarah Haywood.
Note from Susan:  without researching the entire Ball genealogy, I will trust that the following are children of Horace and Sarah.  I began researching census, and in 1860, was already confused by the writing and names on the records.

Horace / Hardy2 Ball, born July 09, 1856 in Harrison Co Mississippi, and died February 08, 1937 in Simpson Co Mississippi.     

He married Rosa Ann 'Pauline' Hilton, daughter of Thomas Norvell Hilton and Louisa Elizabeth Bridges on December 25, 1878 in Rankin Co Mississippi.  She was born October 15, 1858, and died December 18, 1949. Both are buried in New Zion Baptist Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi

Hardy Ball and and Pauline Hilton had 10 children, 9 of whom are in this photograph One son, William Napolean died at 7 yrs of age, when a tree fell on him, so depending on the date of this photo,  it is either before Vernon was born, or after the death of William. --Names are shown in order of birth below-- - Frederick Monroe - Thomas Horace - William Napolean - Drewry Brown - - Carrie Ida - R. Sylvester - Marvin Appleton - Milton Hayward - Wiley Isaac - Vernon H. - It's apparent which one is Carrie, as she is the only girl born in this house full of boys!

Glyn Dale Ball, 77, died at his home in Brandon on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, from lung cancer.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, July 15, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Chapel in Pearl with interment at 4 p.m. in Old Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Highway 541 in the Martinville Community of Simpson County.
Mr. Ball was born in Harrisville to Drewery Brown Ball and Maggie Barlow Ball and was baptized a Methodist. After moving to Jackson, he attended Enochs Junior High School and Central High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during Work War II and retired from MP&L/Entergy after 34 years working on a substation crew in Greenwood and in the Transformer Shop in Jackson. He was a long-time member of the IBEW and a member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Mississippi F.&A.M. for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Ball of Alamogordo, N.M.; and sisters, Jewel Ball Hawkins of Mendenhall and Dorothy Ball White, formerly of Jackson.
Mr. Ball is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gwyne Shows Ball of Brandon; daughters, Margaret Ball Thornton and husband James C. (Butch) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Sherry Ball Stanley of Brandon; grandchildren, Angela Stanley of Dallas, Texas, Jennifer Thornton and Kevin Thornton, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-granddaughters, Madison Drew, Zoe Catherine and Elena of Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Prior to his death, Glyn requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Old Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church for the Cemetery Fund, c/o Church Treasurer, 501 Oak Street, Mendenhall, MS 39114.

Marvin Appleton Ball, born January 30, 1893, and died December 05, 1925.

He married Julia Frances Barlow, the daughter of Hezekiah Barlow and Nannie McLeod, she was born September 25, 1896, and died in 1985.   They had no children. Julia remarried to a Mr. Head after Marvin's death.

He married Ollie J. Bridges Both are buried at New Zion Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi
Milton and Wiley were both married to Ollie's.    In the New Zion Cemetery, the order of burial is as shown below. This leads me to believe that Ollie J. is buried next to Wiley, and that Ollie B. is on one side of Milton, and Zora on the other. Not knowing the facts of Milton's marriages, I at first assumed Ollie had died and he married second to Zora. However, if either of these Ollie's was the first wife of Milton, then it would appear they were divorced before 1917, thus making it unlikely that she would be buried beside him.
