David Berry 2 (John1) was born between 1770 - 1775 in South Carolina, and died 1833 in Rankin Co Mississippi.
I am unsure as to where Rebecca was living in 1840, but in l850, Rebecca
is living with her daughter, Mary, and husband,
Daniel D. Webb in Rankin Co Mississippi.
There were surely other children we know nothing about, that she was living
with.
| In 1820, David and Rebecca were enumerated in Covington Co Mississippi |
|
They lived in Simpson Co from about 1822-1828.
They then removed to Rankin Co, where David died about 1831 or
1833. He and Rebecca are said to be the first to be buried in the Sutton-Berry family graveyard. The cemetery is about 2 miles off the highway in the woods between Florence and Brandon. There are no stones on their graves but the dates were supplied from printed records of their families ..... this information was submitted by Miss Mary J. Berry in 1946 |

from the internet message boards, give reference to a
David Berry, being an Indian interpreter, but I do
not know if this is our David or not. The family mentioned by Janet, does not appear to be ours, though another researcher disputes this. Does anyone have a proven connection to this David? Janet

David Berry
and John Berry are brothers and both are the children of William
Berry, Sr. and Henrietta. David Berry
Another researcher makes the following claim: The David Berry, interperter to the Indians is a brother to John Berry and GERMAN Berry. THEIR FATHER IS A JOHN Berry. John Berry and German Berry descendants refer to them as the Simpson Co Mississippi set even though they are wide spread. |

In the 1860 Rankin Co census, an Elizabeth Berry,

I found Elizabeth McCaskill, age 34 with her McCaskill children in the
1850 census of Rankin Co living with
her parents, Joseph and Sally Boggan, and also, Louisa Berry, age 3, whom I believe to be a daughter of Mary and German. I cannot locate German anywhere in the U.S. on the 1850 census, nor any of his other children. Census Image
In 1860, I find German living with his children,
