L.B. Hathorn / male / born October 1869 in Mississippi

Notes from Ann McNair and Susan Holmes:

The census taker may have mistakenly listed L.B. as a male, when the listing should have read "female". Based on the 1910 census, where we find Sarah 'Polk' Hathorn living in the home of Byzar and Stella Stringer, and the cemetery listing from Hathorn Cemetery, it is possible that L.B. Hathorn was the first wife of Byzar Stringer, and after her death in 1906, he married Stella ____. The issue is further confused however, by the fact that Stella is shown to have been married only 2 years, Stella had borned 2 children, with 2 living, though only one child listed could be hers, probably another error on the part of the census taker. And too, we are 'assuming' that the B. Stringer of the Hathorn cemetery listing is 'Byzar'. I have not been able to locate Sarah Hathorn in the 1880 census, nor have I been able to locate Byzar Stringer of Sarah in the 1900 census.

The Hathorn Cemetery has the following listed:

L.B., wife of B. Stringer, 1 Oct 1869 - 8 Apr 1906
Byza Stringer, 29 Jan 1872 - 31 Mar 1950
Stella Stringer, 15 May 1888 - 13 Nov 1965
Niles, son of B. and L. Stringer, 13 Oct 1902 - 8 Oct 1909
Nealous Stringer, 1905 - 1961
Ruport Stringer, 1903 - 1944
