WASHINGTON JEFFERSON 'JEFF' BERRY4 (Pryor Talley3, John2, John1) was born November 09, 1839 in Mississippi, and died November 18, 1909.

He married 1.) MARY JANE BARLOW, on December 04, 1873 in Simpson Co Mississippi. The daughter of George Washington Barlow and Flora Ann Byrd, she was born June 25, 1849, and died December 27, 1892. Jeff and Mary Jane are buried in Harrisville Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi.

He married 2.) LOU ROGERS after the death of Flora. She was born October 1852 in Mississippi. I do not have a maiden name for her, this one apparently from her first marriage, based on the name of a step-child enumerated in the 1900 census.

1992 Berry Patch newsletter states he was member of Harrisville Baptist Church from 1871-1877

He married 1.) Bessie Morris, daughter of William Connerly Morris and Delilah Walker, she was born 1894, and died 1961. They divorced, and had no children.

ELLIS MARSHALL BERRY

Ellis Marshall Berry, 65, farmer, died March 6, 2000, as a result of cancer. He was a member of New Hebron Baptist Church and the Golden Heart Club.

Services were held March 9, 2000, at New Hebron Baptist Church with burial in New Hebron Cemetery in New Hebron. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Berry; a daughter, Shana and Joey Lane of New Hebron; a borther Kelley Berry of Pinola; two sisters, Frances Walley of Richton and Ann McNair of Florida, and a grandchild. She (sic) was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Turner.

Helen Berry Turner, 54, an office manager, died of a brain hemorrhage Sunday at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Medical Center.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lakewood Memorial Park Funeral Home in Jackson with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Turner, a Simpson County native, was a member of Oak Dale Baptist Church. She was a member and past president of the Botanical Garden Club.

Survivors include: husband, Kelly; daughter, Angela Miller of Madison; son, Kelvin Turner of Starkville; and a grandchild.

Memorials may be made to The Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital of Shreveport, or to Wahabi Temple, P.O. Box 2750, Jackson, MS 39207-2750

WILLIE LEE T. BERRY

Willie Lee T. Berry, 80, homemaker of Mendenhall, died Tuesday, December 05, 1995 of heart failure at Magee General Hospital.

Services were 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 07, 1995 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with burial in Stonewall Cemetery in Pinola. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall handled the arrangements.

Mrs. Berry was a native of Lawrence County and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include 2 sons:
Ellis Marshall Berry - New Hebron, Robert Kelly Berry - Pinola; 2 daughters: Mary Frances Walley - Richton, Dorothy Ann McNair - Jackson; 2 brothers: Floyd Turnage and Vernon Turnage - both of Braxton; 2 sisters: Joyce Paige - Mendenhall, Bennie Vee Traylor - Baton Rouge, LA; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Eugene Sexton Berry6 born October 03, 1900 in Simpson Co Mississippi.and died July 24, 1964.

He married Nora Estelle Ford on April 28, 1931. She was born November 19, 1907, and died May 22, 1992. Both are buried in the New Hebron Cemetery, Lawrence Co Mississippi.

They had one child: Eugene Sexton Berry, Jr.

Marshall Field 'Love' Berry6 born November 24, 1905 in Simpson Co Mississippi, and died July 20, 1983 in Simpson Co Mississippi, burial in New Hebron Cemetery, Lawrence Co Mississippi.

He married 1.) Jessie Belle Pennington.    They had no children

He married 2.) Mance Boyanton. She is buried in Shivers Family Cemetery, Shivers, Simpson Co Mississippi.   They had one child: Linda Love Berry, born and died 1939

HENRY HOUSTON 'HUGH' BERRY was born February 03, 1869, and died September 08, 1910, burial in Strong River Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi

He married LAURA MAE WILLIAMSON on September 25, 1904. The daughter of Samuel Marion Williamson and Harriet Elizabeth Davis, she was born February 22, 1885 in Simpson Co Mississippi, and died August 24, 1972 in Mendenhall, Simpson Co Mississippi, burial in Strong River Cemetery, on August 25, 1972, the services being held at Upton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Douglass and Rev. Rubin Compere officiating. She is buried between her two husbands.

After Hugh's death, Laura married Ethelbert Barksdale Berry on June 06, 1925.

Laura's father, Samuel M. Williamson is a brother to Jane Williamson, first wife of John Jackson Berry. Laura's sister, Bessie Williamson married Henry's brother, Jefferson Davis Berry.

Laura is a sister to Bessie Williamson, who married Hugh's brother, Jefferson Davis Berry

A.C. Berry born June 28, 1905. He married Thelma Ruth Wickham. They made their home in Nashville, Shelby Co Tennessee

Willie Mae Berry born July 21, 1907 in Simpson Co Mississippi, and died on March 02, 1994 in Mendenhall, Simpson Co Mississippi; services at Colonial Chapel on March 04, 1994, and burial in Mendenhall City Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi.
She married Robert E. Lee Williams, Sr. December 12, 1925, son of Robert Williams and Fannie Shivers

MYRTLE BERRY

Myrtle Berry, 79, a retired factory worker, of Hillcrest Nursing Home in Magee died at Magee General Hospital on January 03, 2002. She was a member of Harrisville Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Berry were conducted January 5 in the chapel of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Interment was in Harrisville Cemetery.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Ty Yates and Pam Yates; two great-grandchildren, Coddy Yates and Sylvia Yates; two brothers, William Floyd Sowell Jr. of Biloxi and James Layfette Sowell of Calif.; and three sisters, Verneta Smith of Magee, Virginia WIlkes of Nicevile, Fla. and Bobbie Nell Hollaway of Calif.

Gertie Sue Berry born February 02, 1909, and died November 16, 1987.
She married Grover Cleveland VanZandt. He was born February 20, 1888, and died November 1970. Children: Bessie Ann and James Cleveland VanZandt
