Bishop-Bufkin Reunion
In 1958, descendants of Albert Gallatin Bishop gathered for a family reunion. There was a large gathering for this reunion and money taken at this time was used to place a pulpit in Antioch Church in his memory. It was decided at this time that this reunion would be known as the Bishop and Bufkin reunion since some families of both descendants were the same. In 1959, the Bishop and Bufkin Reunion held it's first reunion with many descendants of both families coming from far and near. Money given at this time was used to place a chair in the pulpit in memory of William Carey Bufkin. At other times through the years, there have been brass plaques placed in the church for each family with names of those deceased. The Bishop and Bufkin Reunion has also given donations to the Cemetery Association of Antioch Church and more recently had new tables made by the old trees at the side of the church.

The Bishop and Bufkin Reunion had met annually the First Sunday in August since the beginning of 1959. Descendants of both families are well represented with many coming from several bordering states for fellowship, lunch at noon hour, and a business session and program followed in the afternoon. Officers are elected each year which include Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer. Some of the programs which have been presented through the years are as follows:

"What's in a Name?" with Shelby Bishop as Chairman. All present were reminded through devotional, songs, and comments of the great responsibility we have to keeping a name clean which has been given to us. Another program given by Mrs. Ann Bishop Green was "This is Your Life", T.V. style, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Thomas U. Bufkin. Uncle Tom and Aunt Gert, as they are known by all who have passed through the doors of Antioch Church, left with us a look into their lives and how it has been so closely woven in and around Antioch Church. Another program that brought laughter and tears to those present was when Homer Bufkin as Chairman presented Gerald Bishop and Bill Bufkin as they told of by-gone days as boys.

In 1966, with Billy Bishop as Chairman, assisted by Mrs. Ann Bishop Green, a program was presented, "This is Your Life, Annie Lee Bishop, R.N." Delightful childhood days and a lifetime of serving others through nursing profession was the central thought in this program. More recently slides of some of the highlights of the Bishop and Bufkin Reunion was given by Gerald Bishop.

Others have worked throughout the years gathering information of dates and data for both families. Many made the Bishop and Bufkin Reunion a success by giving devotionals, special songs, readings, and numerous other jobs which has added so much to this special day.

The Bishop - Bufkin Reunion meets the first Sunday in August after Homecoming. Mrs. Karen Reynolds is Chairman.
