TIMOTHY ALFRED2 DOUGLASS was born November 20, 1851 in Hermanville, Claiborne Co Mississippi, and died November 27, 1938 in Bowerton, Copiah Co Mississippi.  I have been told that he is the son of Alfred or Isaac Douglass and Kate Lord, but having searched 1860 and 1870 Mississippi census, I was unable to verify the family.

He married MARY ELIZABETH 'BETSY / DADY' BUFKIN, December 24, 1874 in Barlow, Copiah Co Mississippi.  The daughter of Harmon Floyd Bufkin and Elizabeth Ann Barlow, she was born April 27, 1851 in Copiah Co Mississippi, and died April 27, 1921 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co Mississippi.

                  

The first record I find of Timothy is in a 1870 Copiah Co Mississippi census, where he is age 19, enumerated in the home of William Dority.

HARMON FLOYD DOUGLASS was born August 16, 1877 in Barlow, Copiah Co Mississippi, and died September 20, 1963. He married his first cousin, once removed, ALLAH BUFKIN, September 10, 1905 in Copiah Co Mississippi. The daughter of Benjamin Franklin Bufkin and Mary Frances Cochran, she was born July 26, 1887, and died October 22, 1946.     Both are buried in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Barlow, Copiah Co Mississippi

In Memory of Neva Douglass

Whereas, it has pleased our Almighty Father to removed from our midst one of our precious darlings, little Neva Douglass of the Antioch community, who closed her eyes in death May 10, 1918.

She was a beautiful, intelligent and obedient child and was loved by all who knew here. She was a patient sufferer, was sick eighty-four days and underwent a critical operation without a murmur. She was a ray of sunlight wherever she went, and her death cast a gloom over many a heart. We can't understand the works of the Lord, but we do know he sent this little sun beam to brighten the way for nearly nine years and then to suffer and died. It seems so sad, but God's will be done, not ours.
