Hilton, age 4 *, Nancy L., age 1, all children, born in Ms. Also in the home is: William H. Taylor, age 17, born in Mississippi * this is how it is in the census! 1870 Brookhaven Lincoln Co Mississippi, page 103, household #473 / 473, has J.J. Hilton, age 52, born in SC, Mary Hilton age 52, born in Ms, Riny, age 29, Mary, age 22, S.-female- age 18, L.-female- age 16, Thomas , age 14, Nancy, age 11, Jefferson Wm.,* age 7, S.-female- age 4, all children born in Mississippi. Jefferson, Wm. appears that his surname is Jefferson -- but I believe he is indeed a Hilton. I was unable to locate this family in 1880, however, I did find a John Hilton, age 61, born in SC, in Family Search Organization, Beat 2, Copiah Co Mississippi, pg 97D with wife, Minteria, age 34, born in Ms, with daughters, Nettie, age 3, and Rebecca, age 1, who may be him and a new wife. |
