Charity H. Barlow, daughter of Henry 'Buck' Barlow and Miranda Haymon was born in May 1855, Copiah Co Mississippi, and probably died between 1900-1910 She married Ernest Thomae on January 31, 1890 in Jefferson Co Mississippi. Ernest was born November 1843 in Germany, and died probably in 1900 in Jefferson Co Mississippi. He had previously been married to Ellen Orr, who died in 1888, and brought 6 children into this marriage. He immigrated from Germany in 1849 to the US. |

I was unable to locate Ernest in an 1880 Mississippi census, nor could I locate him or Charity in 1910. On the Rootsweb World Connect Project, Larry Crawford shows that Charity H. Thomae, a widow, submitted a Civil War pension, #848.903 on May 14, 1900, but that does conflict with the June 1900 census of Jefferson Co Mississippi, showing him alive. I found in 1910, Bertus, Charles, and Adolph. Bertus, married, and with a family, Charles a hired man in someone's home, and Adolph, 13 years of age, a boarder in the home of Clem and Anna McNair. 1920, I found only Bertus. |
