REBECCA3 BARLOW, daughter of WILLIAM BRYANT BARLOW and NANCY HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON, was born May 1833, and died after May 1910 in Forrest Co Mississippi.

She married COLON R. HOOD c1858.  The son of John and Mary Hood, he was born August 1832 [1900 census], and died before 1910.   Perhaps he and Rebecca divorced c1890-91.  See 1900 census records.

JEFFERSON D. HOOD, born c1861.   I am confused about Jefferson, who has been said to be Jefferson Duncan, and who was said to have married DORA VANCE BARLOW, however, all the census records show Duncan R. and the age of Duncan R. fits a lot more closely than that of Jefferson.

2. JOHN W. HOOD, born in 1859.   In 1880 Perry Co Mississippi, he is single, and a boarder in the home of Mary Watts, working on her farm.

He married CORNELIA MCRANEY.    The daughter of Cornelius McRaney and Mary Ann Herrington, she was born May 26, 1868 (May 1867, 1900 census) in Covington Co Mississippi, and died August 01, 1927.   (Mary Ann Herrington, the daughter of Enoch Washington Herrington and Rebecca Ann Miller)

After searching an researching this family, I have come to the belief that this is not our John Hood.  Can anyone shed light on this family?

I could not late them after 1900.
 
5. LEONA HOOD, apparently a twin to Charles, though she is not shown in the 1880 census, she is with Rebecca in 1900, and her birth is July 1879, same as Charles.

She married GEORGE BUNCH, and had an infant daughter in June 1900.  She apparently died before 1910, George, age 31, in Jones Co Mississippi, had been married to his second wife, Mary, for 9 months.  He had 4 children in his home, aged 4 thru 14, which makes me wonder about this being the same George.  It is Mary's first marriage, so surely they are not her children.  Also, with the him being 31, and having a child 14, he would have only been a child himself when she was born.  I wonder if perhaps these are not siblings.
