MARTHA ELIZABETH 'LIZZIE' BUTLER was born February 22, 1869, and died October 26, 1956. Martha was listed in the 1870 Simpson Co Mississippi census, living with her mother, Martha Butler, her brother, William, and a third child named Thomas. If Thomas was a brother, then he must have died young.   Lizzie's father is not known.

She married 1) JOHN WESLEY BARLOW, JR. c1883 in Simpson Co Mississippi, the son of JOHN WESLEY BARLOW and H. CATHERINE MAHAFFEY

She married 2) THOMAS MADISON BLANKENSHIP December 12, 1897 in Sabine Parish Louisiana. He had previously been married to Sarah, and had 7 children prior to his marriage to Lizzie.   He was born September 24, 1857, and died May 05, 1934

She married 2) JAMES H. BALLARD after the death of his first wife in 1938. James had previously been married to Clara / Cora McCaskill and had several children, but Lizzie is thought to have been past child-bearing age, thus no children were born to she and James.   James was born August 18, 1860, and died July 15, 1954.

James, Thomas and Lizzie are all buried in Beulah Methodist Church Cemetery, Marthaville, Natchitoches Parish Louisiana.  

Children of Thomas and Sarah are:
Mattie Talitha Blankenship, born April 19, 1884, and died July 04, 1934, married James Peter Blue, born October 08, 1874, and died December 29, 1943, both buried in Beulah Methodist Cemetery, Natchitoches Parish Louisiana / known child:  James Madison Blue, born February 11, 1910, and died February 24, 1984, burial in Beulah Methodist Cemetery, Natchitoches Parish Louisiana)

Susan P. Blankenship.  She may have married Robert J. Wallie.  In 1910 Natchitoches Parish Louisiana, living next door to Kiah and Deola, the census almost illegible
Tommy Blankenship, born April 18, 1888, and died August 23, 1954. He married Rose Etta King, born November 07, 1898, and died November 20, 1980, both burial in Beulah Methodist Cemetery, Natchitoches Parish Louisiana
Robert F. or M. Blankenship married Maggie; known children: Lou and Archie
Clarence Blankenship, born January 09, 1892, and died January 13, 1944. He married Lena Maxey Feazel, born August 01, 1890, and died December 07, 1955, both buried in Beulah Methodist Cemetery, Natchitoches Parish Louisiana
Wise M. Blankenship, born April 12, 1894 in Louisiana, and died March 1976 in Texas

I found Robert, age 30, in 1920 Hunt Co Texas, with wife, Maggie, and children, Lou and Archie, along with his two brothers, Wise, age 23, and Clifton, age 18.

In 1930, I find Tom and Martha indexed in Desoto Parish Louisiana, Tom, Martha E., Odis, Clifton, and Onita.

../HEZEKIAH 'KIAH' BLANKENSHIP, son of Thomas Madison Blankenship and his first wife, Sarah, was born 1882, died 1947.

He married his step-sister, DEOLA 'OLA' BARLOW, c1905. The daughter of John Wesley Barlow and Martha Elizabeth Butler, she was born September 12, 1886 in Mississippi, and died August 1968 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana.   Both are buried in Beulah Methodist Cemetery, Natchitoches Parish Lousiana
