8.  George C. or G. Gatlin, son of Thomas Gatlin and Susan Elizabeth Barlow, was born August 20, 1855, and probably died between 1910-1920.

He married Sarah M. McCaskill, perhaps Sarah Amanda 'Mandy' on July 20, 1876.   She was born May 1860, and died before 1910.

In 1910, George is age 56, a widower, and a boarder in the home of Willie B. and Pearlie B. ____ in Rankin Co Mississippi.

Mary Catherine Gatlin, born January 20, 1882 in Rankin Co Mississippi, and died January 20, 1965 in Louisiana.

She married William Isaac Brinson on November 26, 1896 in Rankin Co Mississippi.  The son of Thomas J. Brinson and Susan Barlow, he was born December 14, 1874 in Rankin Co Mississippi.

9.  Mary Gatlin, daughter of Thomas C. Gatlin and Susan Elizabeth Barlow, was born June 02, 1857 (1900 census - June 1855), and died September 10, 1913.

She married Jefferson Dudley Sandifer. The son of William Nightingale Sandifer and Priscilla, he was born  April 24, 1853 (1900 census - April 1858), and died March 18, 1941.  Both are buried in Mountain Creek Cemetery, Rankin Co Mississippi.

10.  Emeline Gatlin, daughter of Thomas C. Gatlin and Susan Elizabeth Barlow, was born April 10, 1860, and died June 11, 1891.

She married Uriah Byrd Butler on February 24, 1876 in Rankin Co Mississippi.  The son of Joshua Benjamin Franklin Butler and Martha Jane Gates, he was born June 01, 1859 in Simpson Co Mississippi, and died August 01, 1944.   Uriah is also the brother of Green Carlisle Butler who married Elizabeth Grantham. 

By the 1900 census, Emaline is deceased, and U.B. has remarried to Lula, living in Desoto Parish Louisiana, with 4 children, all born after 1890.

33.  John Houston Butler, born April 08, 1878 and died September 20, 1948

In 1900, they are living with his parents, no children.  I was unable to locate them in 1910 or 1920.  Children and dates from Larry Gatlin, RWC Project

13.  Charlie W. Barlow, son of John L. Barlow and Emeline Sophronia Berry, was born June 1878.   While I cannot prove this to be that son, I believe it is, when checking census records, I find no others families with a son named Charlie born in this time frame.

He married Cora.

15.  Della S. Barlow, daughter of John L. Barlow and Emeline Sophronia Berry, was born December 1882.

She married William J. / H. Byrd on December 18, 1902 in Simpson Co Mississippi.  He is possibly the son of Cornelius C. and Myrtle Byrd.

16.  Henry C. Moran, son of Hezekiah Moran and Rachel Barlow, was born November 1861, and died February 22, 1919

He married Madora Alice 'Dora' Slay on January 25, 1882 in Copiah Co Mississippi.  The daughter of Nathan W. Slay and Mary Ann Slay, she was born July 1859, and died in 1940.   Both are buried in Georgetown Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi.

He married his second cousin, Irma Inez Barlow between 1910-1920.   The daughter of France Marion Barlow and Nannie A. Watkins, she was born January 28, 1893, death date unknown.   They had no children.       (1920 census of Copiah Co Mississippi)

17.  Emma Moran, daughter of Hezekiah Moran and Rachel Barlow, was born July 1875.

She married William J. Hester 'Hess' Boatman c1896.   The son of William Henry 'Tom' Boatman and Mary Moorhead, he was born October 1875.

18.  Francis M. 'Franz' Moran, son of Hezekiah Moran and Rachel Barlow, was born July 27, 1876, and died April 23, 1923, burial by Woodmen of the World in Harmony Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi

He married Dora Middleton.  The daughter of William H. Middleton and Georgia Ann Sojourner, she was born October 1882. 

19. Sally Jane Moran, daughter of Hezekiah Moran and Rachel Barlow, was born September 06, 1883, and died September 18, 1943.

She married Ira C. Cowan around 1900.    The son of Calvin A. Cowan and Josephine B. Young, he was born November 27, 1876, and died September 18, 1953.  Both are buried in Hopewell Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi  

Subye C. Cowan, born September 16, 1904, and died November 14, 1981, burial in Hopewell Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi.
She married Burnell Shelton, Jr.     The son of Burnell Shelton and Lora Drew Barlow, he was born March 14, 1900.  Lora, the daughter of Henry Zair Barlow and Mary Manghum Swinney, Henry, the son of Henry Buck Barlow and Charity Millsaps.

Alexander Calvin Cowan, born September 30, 1909, and died November 16, 1956, burial in Hopewell Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi.  I was unable to locate him in any of the 1920 census records.

In 1870, Molly, age 4, was an orphan in the home of George W. Barlow.
In 1880, she is age 12, living in the home of George W. Barlow.
Willie Wilkerson in 1880 is a farm laborer, enumerated in the France M. Barlow home.

21.  Margaret 'Maggie' E. Barlow, daughter of  George Washington Barlow and Sarah E. Murray, was born July 1871, and died 1951.

She married William M. Burt on July 17, 1888 in Copiah Co Mississippi.  The son of Daniel F. Burt and Matilda A. Sellers, he was born in October 1861, and died in 1950.  Both are buried in Hopewell Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi.

22.  Hattie Barlow, daughter of George Washington Barlow and Sarah E. Murray, was born December 23, 1872, and died October 14, 1965 in McComb, Pike Co Mississippi, burial in Hollywood Cemetery, Pike Co Mississippi

She married John Wesley Shaumberger c1896.    He was born c1878.

23.  Dora J. Barlow, daughter of George Washington Barlow and Sarah E. Murray, was born June 1875, and died 1917

She married John Clarence Slay, December 15, 1890 in Copiah Co Mississippi.  The son of Norvell Slay and Martha Sandifer, he was born January 11, 1867, and died in 1927.   Both are buried in Hopewell Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi

24.  Alice4 Barlow, daughter of Wiley Green Barlow and Elizabeth Sandifer, was born June 22, 1875 in Hopewell, Copiah Co Mississippi, and died December 08, 1943 in Meridian, Lauderdale Co Mississippi

She married Jaisen Allen Planch on December 22, 1899.  He was born July 04, 1869 in New York, and died December 15, 1964.    Both are buried in Hopewell Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi.

I was unable to locate them in any census, except 1920. They had apparently lived in Texas prior to that, but  I could not locate them under any spelling of the name

25.  Mary Caroline Barlow, daughter of Wiley Green Barlow and Elizabeth Sandifer, was born December 25, 1877 in Hopewell, Copiah Co Mississippi, and died December 25, 1939 in Copiah Co Mississippi. 

She married Robert Purser 'Bob' Slay on December 03, 1899 in Copiah Co Mississippi.   The son of Alonzo D. Slay and Virginia L. Sandifer, he was born July 31, 1878, and died 1966.

He married Matilda Getrude Hux. She was born January 01, 1904, and died March 15, 1985. Both are buried in Crystal Springs Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi

26.  Walter Green Barlow, son of Wiley Green Barlow and Elizabeth Sandifer, was born February 06, 1880 in Hopewell, Copiah Co Mississippi, and died August 07, 1950

He married Alma Traylor on May 04. 1902.     The daughter of Albert Randolph Traylor and Mary Alice Sojourner, she was born May 04, 1880, and died June 20, 1976.  Both are buried in Hopewell Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi.

27.  Jessie Elizabeth Barlow, daughter of Wiley Green Barlow and Elizabeth Sandifer, was born June 01, 1882 in Hopewell, Copiah Co Mississippi, and died December 08, 1956

She married Edwin / Edward D. 'Ed' Burt on December 21, 1903. The son of George Washington Burt, Sr. and Martha Ann Young, he was born June 25, 1881, and died June 28, 1955.     Both are buried in Hopewell Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi

Cecil Marion Barlow, son of France Marion Barlow and Nannie A. Watkins, was born August 16, 1883, or August 31, 1882, (WWI Registrants) Copiah Co Mississippi, and died February 01, 1951.

He married Ethel G. Gates.   The daughter of David Franklin Gates, and Mary M. Tyler, she was born January 1885, and died in 1951.  Both are buried in Hopewell Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi.  They had no children of their own, but adopted 2 children.

30.  Aden Wilmirth Barlow, born July 12, 1896, and died February 23, 1978.

He married Ethel Parker on November 16, 1916.  She was born September 11, 1896, and died December 27, 1981.

Julius F. Barlow, born November 16, 1917, and died February 09, 2007 in Jackson, Hinds Co Mississippi.
He married Kathryn 'Kate' Tucker on December 09, 1930 in Jackson, Hinds Co Mississippi.   She was born January 05, 1924, and died June 01, 2005 in Jackson, Hinds Co Mississippi
One child:  Catherine Naomi Barlow married Mr. Daniels

Julius Francis Barlow, a Mississippi musical legend, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2007 , in Jackson. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the High Street Chapel of Wright and Ferguson. Visitation will be between the hours of 5 & 7 p.m. Thursday. Interment will follow the service in Lakewood Cemetery.
He was born on a farm outside of Hopewell, Miss., to Ethel Parker and Aden Barlow on November 16, 1917. He is preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother, Aden Barlow and his beloved wife, Kathryn Tucker Barlow. He now joins his wife, Kathryn, in heaven where their 64-year union has its blessed homecoming together in Christ whom they both loved so much.
Left to mourn his passing is his only child, Naomi Barlow Daniel of Jackson, his granddaughters, Rene' Sutton and husband Dan Sutton; Michelle Paniagua and David Paniagua of Austin, Texas. The loves of his life were his two great grandchildren, Olivia Rene Paniagua, and Jackson Julius Sutton, hisd namesake.
Julius (Jules) Barlow found his life's calling playing the piano and the gift of entertaining at an early age. I just grew up loving music because of my aunt, a piano teacher, said Jules in 2006. "I was lucky, I always got to do what I loved." He formed his first orchestra while still a student at Central High School, class of 1937. Many of his band members had been with him since the 1930's, including Dr. E.F. Simmons. "You name it and we played there," said Simmons.
The Jules Barlow Orchestra played with many famous bands of the big band era, including the Blue Baron. The Orchestra also appeared in many famous ballrooms throughout the South, including the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, the Broadmoor and Buena Vista Hotels in Biloxi and many others. Locally, the Orchestra had regular engagements at Jackson Country Club, playing their New Year Eve party for many years, the Capital City Club, the now gone Heidelberg Roof, the River Hills Country Club, and the King Edward Hotel. The Jules Barlow Orchestra played together from the late 1930's until the early 2000's. It may be the longest running musical act in Jackson history. Jules Barlow also played piano with many famous bandleaders of his day, including Gene Pringle out of New York, Herbert Holmes and Phil Harris. He played cruises out of New Orleans and enjoyed telling tales of his trip to pre-Castro Havana, Cuba. He shared the stage with many famous entertainers, including Bob Hope, who he spent an exciting evening with following a show in Florida. Jules Barlow brought happiness to everyone that heard him, he loved performing and was never more at home than behind a piano.
For many years he worked at Wright Music on Capitol Street, selling his beloved pianos and encouraging young musicians. He was honored in 2002 for his many years of providing great music and support to the Alhambraa Annual Dance, a local fundraiser. Kathryn and Jules Barlow were charter members of Leavell Woods Methodist Church attending for more than 50 years. Recently, Jules and his daughter, Naomi, had joined Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church were Jules felt a deep kinship to the pastor, David Watson, a fellow musician. To say that Jules enjoyed life was to understate the enthusiasm that he brought to his daily life. He thanked God everyday for giving him his beautiful wife who he spend 64 wonderful years, his loving and devoted daughter who cared for him for the last 18 months and his granddaughters and great-grandchildren. His love of life, music, family and friends tea
