Barbara Barlow Feathers, Mississippi I remember seeing others that apparently did not sign the guestbooks, as I myself, did not.. Next year, Carol, Lorabeth and I will have to work to put a program more organized together for introducing all of us to one another.
I have to say that the most memorable part of the reunion for me was when Taylor, the granddaughter of Voncile and Max Harrison, who is about 3 years old, sang to me, in it's entirety, "Standing on the Promises".. She was a beautiful and most well behaved child.
I was so sorry that Carol Hilton Kennedy was not able to attend, she is "the originator" of our Barlow Hilton Reunions, and has been our leader since the beginning, we pray she will be back in our presence next year. Without her, I am lost!!
Luther Hart, who has worked hard this year to acquire Camp Wesley Pines Church grounds for our future reunions, suffered a stroke the week of the reunion, and was unable to attend. He had surgery the day before the reunion, but his sister tells me he is in good shape and plans on coming back stronger than ever. Our love and prayers are with you Luther, and we look forward to hearing more about Camp Wesley Pines.
Collections from the reunion was generous, all debts were paid, the postage I paid for sending out the snail mail notices of the reunion was covered, plus other small debts inccurred, and I believe close to $100 was given to the church for the use of the building. Ardeth Barlow took care of the money end so I don't know the particulars on that. Thank you all for being so generous in your giving.
Paul Longa (John Wesley Barlow, Jr. family) and family were not able to attend, he works in New Orleans for a cemetery association, and the Saturday of the reunion was All Saints Day, apparently the biggest day of the year for that line of work. We sure did miss them, as they are still new to the family, and I, for one would like to know them better.
This
year, cousins, Lorabeth and Sarah and I came to Simpson Co a few days
early and explored the woods around the George Washington Barlow graveyard...Sarah
was a first timer, and we gave her the tour of Simpson and Copiah Co...

I have talked for a couple of years about doing a Barlow newsletter for our family, but have always been told one was already in preparation ... I think that enough time has elapsed any results, so I am again having thoughts of doing one just for our Barlow family...the descendants and collateral lines of John and Lydia Barlow. This issue will serve as Issue #1, and if you are all interested, I would most certainly be happy to undertake a monthly issue. You can contact me via e-mail, snail mail or phone and contribute family information, new births, weddings, illnesses, deaths, obituaries, newfound family, etc. If you want your lineage posted, then send that, I can do it....If you want it on the Clearinghouse, let me know, I can also do that... We could all share new-found information, or even if it's old news to you, it may be new to us...Photographs from the past would be a wonderful plus...send copies and I'll be happy to post them.. If you have photos unidentified in your albums, perhaps we can post them and get some identifications for them...Questions about your line? .... send em' in...someone may have your answer.. I meet new family all the time via the internet, and this could also serve as a way of introducing all of you to our newfound family, and sharing addresses, etc... I was so busy visiting during the reunion, I didn't take a lot of pictures, but when I get them developed, I will post them, if you took pictures also, send me a copy and I'll post them, perhaps together we have photos of most all the participants in this years reunion. For those of you who have computers, the issues will be free, I will send the URL where you can view, read or print out the pages. Any suggestions or ideas or input will be appreciated.... My mailing
