___ village of Johnstown, in the county of Montgomery, on the fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine, before Tobias A. Stoutenburgh, Esquire, Surrogate of the said county, the last will and testament of Nathan Barlow deceased, (a copy whereof is hereunto ______) was ______ and is ______ ______ and allowed of by ______ and the said ______ having ______ he lives and at the time of his death, goods, chattels ______ within this state, by means whereof the proving and______ the said will, said granting administration of ______ ______ this said good, chattels and ______, and ______ ______, ______ and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us:  The administration of all and singular ______ ______ and ______ of the said deceased, and any way concerning his will is granted unto Lucy Barlow and John Barlow Executrix and executor in the said Will ______ ______ ______ ______ duly sworn ______ and faithfully to administer the ______ said to each and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of ______ ______ the said goods, chattels and ______, and ______ ______ ______ a just and true account thereof, when thereunto required on testimony whereof, ______ have carried the seal of office of ______ said ______ to be hereto affixed.

In the name of God amen I, Nathan Barlow of the town of Charlestown in the county of Montgomery State of New York being weak in body but sound in mind and memory blessed be Almighty God for the power and viewing the uncertainty of this mortal life do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say -

First I give and bequeath to my wife, Lucy all my estate both real and personal to be at her disposal during her natural life -

Secondly I give and bequeath to my sons Samuel, Henry, Arron, George, and Raymond the sum of one hundred dollars cash to be paid in stock at the expiration of ten years from my decease without interest to them their heirs or assigns.

Thirdly I give and bequeath to each of my daughters the sum of fifty dollars to be paid at the expiration of ten years from my decease without interest to them their heirs and assigns - I further will and devise that my daughters Lucy and Loisa shall have as good an outfit when they shall marry or arrive at the age of twenty one years as my older daughters Rachel and Juli had at their marriages which said outfit shall be in addition to the aforesaid fifty dollars.

Fourthly I give and bequeath to my son John all my estate both real and personal at the death of my wife Lucy (except fifty acres of land hereinafter bequeathed to my son Sidney) subject to the above bequests to my children which said bequests the said John is to pay providing he shall occupy the farm during my wife's life otherwise this said bequest ______ dd ______ ______ of my personal property as above bequested th-- th-- said real estate or so ______ as shall remain I bequeath to my son John his heirs and assigns forever.

Fifthly I give and bequeath to my son Sidney fifty acres of land on the west side of ______ farm at the death of my wife Lucy providing he shall have obtained the age of twenty one years to him the said Sidney his heirs and assigns forever.

Lastly I appoint my well beloved wife Lucy and son John Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me made.

Be it __mbered that on the fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine, personally appeared before me, Tobias A. Stoutenburgh, Surrogate of the said county of Montgomery David S. Topping and Robert M. Topping two of the subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of Nathan Barlow late of the town of Charleston in the said county of Montgomery deceased, who being duly sworn, declared that they saw the said Nathan Barlow deceased, seal and execute the instrument hereunto accou____ed and impressed with the seal of office of the said Surrogate which said instrument purports to be the last will and testament of the said Nathan Barlow deceased, bearing date the fourteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine, that they heard him the said Nathan Barlow ______ and declare the same as ___ for his last will and testament:  That at the time thereof he the said Nathan Barlow was of sound and ______ mind, memory and understanding, to the best knowledge and belief of them the said David S. Topping and Robert M. Topping and that they together with Stephen G. W. Van Notta the other witness to the said Will did severally subscribe their names thereto, as witnesses to the execution thereof, in the presence of the said Nathan Barlow the testator.  In testimony whereof the said Surrogate doth hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal of office.  Done at the Village of Johnstoewn, this Eleventh day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine.

Be it ______ ______, that on the sixteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine personally appeared before us the said Surrogate - Lucy Barlow and John Barlow Executrix and Executor in the aforesaid Will named, and were duly sworn to the faithful performance and execution thereof by taking the usual oath in that case provided.

The preceding are true copies of the last will and testament of Nathan Barlow deceased of the certificate of the proof thereof and oath of executrix & executor & of the latters testimony thereon.
