DAN BARLOW  1980

Albany - Dan C. Barlow Jr., 62 of Altmont, died Tuesday, May 13, at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany.
He was born May 11, 1918 in Oneonta, a son of Dan C. and Adda 'Mattice' Barlow. He married Vida Taylor.
He was a truck driver for Coleman Brothers Transportation Company of Rome. He was retired for the last several years. He was veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Donald J. Barlow, Altamont; Dan C. Barlow III, Canton Illinois; David E. Barlow, Oneonta; two brothers William M. Barlow, Rensselaer, and Kenneth Barlow Sr., Kirkview; four sisters, Mrs. Allen Wenck Sr., Mrs. Ellen Brown, Mrs. Mary Schmitt, all of Oneonta; and Mrs. Florence Hauser Jr., Albany; --number illegible- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11a.m. Friday, May 16 at the W. J. Lyons Funeral Home, Rensselaer.  Burial will be in Otego Cemetery, Otego.

Calling hours will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, when the family will be at the funeral home.

HOWARD BARLOW  1984

TREADWELL - Howard K. Barlow, 91, of Treadwell died Wednesday, October 3, at O'Connor
Hospital, Delhi.

He was born May 10, 1893, in Hobart, the son of  Ward and Elizabeth (Puffer) Barlow. He married Myrtle Hall, who
died in 1973, and in 1974 he married Hazel Marie Seeley, who survives.  He was a retired self-employed dairy farmer and a member of the United Methodist Church of Treadwell, of which community he had been a resident for 70 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons. John W. Barlow of Lake Delaware, Ralph H. Barlow of Treadwell and Roger W. Barlow of Farmer City Illinois; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Barlow of Sidney Center; one sister, Mrs. Anne Skinner of Syracuse; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 6. at the Kenneth L. Bennet Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Reverend Robert Meadows-Rogers, pastor of the Treadwell United Methodist Church, officiating.   Burial will be in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin.

Friends may call at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday, when the family will be in attendance.

FRED BARLOW 1986

FRANKLIN - Fred L. Barlow, 75, of Franklin died Monday, November 3 in the Hospital, Sidney.

He was born February 2, 1911, in Meredith, the son of Ward and Elizabeth "Puffer" Barlow. He married Caroline Wright on July 10, 1934. She died January 18, 1970, and on August 21, 1970, he married Roberta Wright, who survives.

A lifelong area resident, he was a retired farmer and had also been a trucker for Shearer's Express, Oneonta. He was a member of the Congregational Baptist Church, Oneonta.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Raymond 'Joan' Light of Franklin; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Maynard 'Anna' Skinner of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews and a cousin.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 6, at the Congregational Baptist Church, Franklin with the Reverend Robert Sargent, pastor officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Sidney Center.

Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, Franklin, where the family will be in attendance Wednesday from 7-9 p.m.

Isabel Bingenheimer, 94, of Le Roy died Monday --November 9, 1992-- in Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte N.C.
She was a native of Le Roy.

Survivors include four sons, Herbert and Earl, both of Charlotte, John of Cheektowaga and the Reverend Alfred of Disputanta, Virginia; a brother, Charles Barlow of Cheektowaga; 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Services for Kenneth R. Johnson, 87, formerly of Niagara Falls, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.

Johnson died Sunday --June 25, 1995-- in Heritage Park Health Care Center, Jamestown, Pennsylvania, after a lengthy illness.  He was born in Kane, Pennsylvania, and lived on 82nd Street in Niagara Falls for 45 years before returning to Pennsylvania six years ago.

Johnson served in the U.S. Army during World War II as an airplane mechanic. He worked in the rubber division of Carborundum Co. for 29 years, retiring 25 years ago.

His wife, Anne Barlow Johnson, died in 1981.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn J. Laczi of Jamestown; a brother, Leonard of Erie, Pennsylvania; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service for Esther Barlow Lindberg, 94, an award-winning quilter, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in
Holmes Chapel of Westminster Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Ave. She died Thursday --February 22, 1996-- in
her Kenmore home.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, she moved to Buffalo in 1941 with her husband, portrait painter, Arthur H. Lindberg. He died in 1977.

She won the People's Choice Award for two of her quilts -- a historical quilt for her mother's family, whose name was Perry, which she completed in her 80s, and a hollyhock quilt that she designed from the flowers in her garden and completed at age 89.  She also was a kindergarten teacher, watercolor painter, lecturer and gardener. She was past president of the Kenmore Culture Club and a member of the Kenmore Garden Club, the Quilters Group of the Amherst Museum and a local antiques club. She often accompanied her husband on annual painting excursions to Vermont.
She learned to paint under his guidance.

Survivors include a daughter, Perryann Hoffman; three granddaughters; and two great granddaughters.

Mary Lou Barlow of Buffalo died Saturday --June 28, 1997-- in Erie County Medical Center after a long illness. She
was 76.  Born in Dublin, Georgia, the former Mary Lou Childers married A.B. Barlow in 1936 and moved to Buffalo in the 1940s.  She worked in the law offices of the late Mark E. Fisher. Her husband died in 1987.

A founder of New Hope Church of God in Christ in the 1960s, Mrs. Barlow was a missionary with the church and sang with its Sunshine Band.

Survivors include five daughters, Hattie Clemons of Hamburg, Barbara Tyes and Wanda, Curlean, and Lois; two sisters, Helen Kellam and Minnie Wright; three brothers, Ulysses Chillis, the Reverend Ureese Chillis and Roy Kellam; 36 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in New Hope Church, 285 Masten Ave. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.

NEW LEBANON - Robert E. Barlow, 78, of New Lebanon, died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Warrensburg, lived in Pittsfield before moving to New Lebanon 49 years ago.  Graduate of Warrensburg Central H.S., attended a printing school in Colorado, worked for the Warrensburg News at age 14, then the Glens Falls Post Star, then the Berkshire Evening Eagle (now the Berkshire Eagle) in Pittsfield.

Former member of the New Lebanon Congregational Church, member of the Brainard United Methodist Church, where his daughter was the former pastor.

Survivors include his wife, Jayne Reirden Barlow, whom he married Nov. 16, 1947; a daughter, the Rev. Bonnie Bates of Schuylerville. His daughter, Theresa Brown, died Jan 20.
