Ronald L. Barlow, 41, of Rt. 1 died
April 3, 1995, at his residence.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ray
Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Ayersville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Reidsville, he was a retired store owner.
Survivors include his mother, Doris Martin of Madison; brothers, Steve Barlow of Madison and Amiel Mouce of Detroit, Michigan; sisters, Mary B. Smith of Mayodan and Linda Burns of Thomasville.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. tonight at Ray Funeral Home.

TRINITY
Everett C. Kearns, 75, a resident of 5079
Robbins Country Rd., died Saturday, July 6, 1996,
in the High Point Regional Hospital following
a lengthy illness.
Mr. Kearns was born in Asheboro on Sept. 25, 1920, the son of Thomas Marvin and Cora Bell Nance Kearns. He was a graduate of Trinity High School and Bryce Commercial College. He attended Vanderbilt University and the Universities of Hawaii and Mississippi. He was employed by the Federal Government for 33 years and traveled the world extensively. In 1976, he retired from the Internal Revenue Service and began raising cattle during his retirement. He was a charter member of New Covenant Lutheran Church and was married to Erna Link on June 3, 1950, in Langenselbold, Germany.
Surviving are his wife of the home; daughters
and sons-in-law, Linda and Bryan Carraway of Maryville, Tenn., Marilynn
and David Merrill Sizemore of Knoxville, Tenn., Barbara and Charles
V. Barlow of Matthews, Stephanie and Mark V. Dobbins of Trinity; brothers,
John
C. Kearns of Greensboro and Paul Kearns
of High Point; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Mabel) Pugh
of Franklinville; grandchildren, G.B.,
Brad and Katie Carraway, Kara and Jon David Sizemore, Charles Everett,
Jessica, Ryan, Meredith, and Jeffrey Barlow.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Emmanuel Lutheran Church by the Rev. John L. Petry, III. Burial will follow in Back Creek Friends Cemetery in Randolph County. The body will remain at the Harold C. Davis Funeral Home until placed in the church Sunday at 7 p.m., where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m.

Mrs. Ruth Bentley Barlow, 78, of 2200 Spring Garden St., dies Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1996, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be held on Friday, November 15, 1996, at 1 p.m. at Sharon Walker Baptist Church, in N. Wilkesboro. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Barlow was a native of N. Wilkesboro. She was a homemaker and a member of Sharon Walker Baptist Church in Wilksboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James William Barlow; two sons, Jimmy and Rex Barlow; and two daughters, Rachel and Violet Barlow.
Surviving are one son, Ted Barlow
of Greensboro; three daughters, Sue Sims of Greensboro, Louise
Marley of West Jefferson, and Carolyn Young of Asheville; nine
grandchildren, and
six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Inez
Cooley of Troutman, and Daisey church of N. Wilkesboro.
The family will receive friends at Sharon Walker Baptist Church before the service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Mrs. Mozelle Gibson Joyce, 82, of 1204 W.
Academy Street, died Friday, February 21, 1997,
at Moses Cone Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Good News Baptist Church, with burial in Woodland Cemetery.
Mrs. Joyce was a native of Rockingham County. She was a member of Good News Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her son, Hubert Wayne Joyce.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert C.

Sara Elizabeth "Lib" Gatewood Philpott,
71, formerly of North Franklin St. died Saturday, July
26, 1997, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital
in Greensboro.
Funeral will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at
the Bethesda United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with
burial in the Dan Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Philpott was in the banking business
for over 44 years with the Bank of Madison & Northwestern Bank which
are now the First Union Bank. She was a member of the A.W.B.A.,
the Dan Valley Home Extension Club and
was a former part owner and operator of the Dan Valley Golf Course.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Tony Philpott, Jr. and is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Linda Philpott and Tom Philpott, all of Stoneville; brother and sisters-in-law, Thomas Aldine and Juanita Gatewood of Madison, Ruby White of Mayodan; nieces and nephews, Steve and Wanda Barlow, Dean and Sylvia Gatewood, Ronnie and Ann Nelson, all of Madison; and four grandchildren, Elaina and Liana Philpott and Gary Steele and Bobbie Jo Vernon.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. tonight at the Ray Funeral Home in Madison and all other times at the home of Mike and Linda Philpott, 424 Philpott Road, Stoneville.

MALPASS HIGH POINT
Alton Jennings Malpass, 83, of Evergreens, Inc., formerly of Jamestown, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Evergreens, Inc.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday,
Feb. 12, 1999, at First Baptist Church in Jamestown
by the Rev. Bob Glasgow and the Rev. Donnie
Malpass. Interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Malpass was born in Pender County, May 29, 1915, a son of Oscar Barlow and Mamie Croom Malpass.
He was educated in local schools and was owner and operator of Malpass Grocery Food Stores from 1925 until 1965. He was a member of Jr. Order Trophy Council 29, a member of Woodman of the World Camp 62, serving as president in 1956 and was secretary and field representative from 1958 until 1979.
He was a charter member of Colonial Country Club, served as president in 1961, and was on the Board of Directors until 1972. He served on Jamestown ABC Board from 1961-1991. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jamestown, and was a member of the T.V. Stewart Men's Sunday School Class. On June 4, 1934, he married Ethelyne Moser, who died May 29, 1991.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Carolyn) Williams, 115 Byrnwood Dr., Jamestown, Mrs. Kirk (Ronda) Rich, 1132 Merry Hills Dr., Mrs. Bruce (Glenda) Jones of Raleigh; one son, James Alton (Jimmy) Malpass of Myrtle Beach, SC; three sisters, Mrs. Bert Cox of Greensboro, Mrs. Mamie Kearns of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mrs. Kathleen Smith of Wilcox, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at Sechrest Funeral Service, E. Lexington Ave. and at other times, will be at the home of Mrs. Carolyn Williams, 115 Byrnwood Dr., Jamestown, or Mrs. Ronda Rich, 1132 Merry Hills Dr., High Point.

Mrs. Margaret McGuire Smith, 86, died on Saturday, June 12, 1999, at home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Donald B. Smith of the home; son, John Cooper of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; stepson, Norman B. Smith of Greensboro; brother, William B. McGuire of Charlotte; sister, Virginia McGuire Barlow of Hickory; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

KANNAPOLIS
Mrs. Lou Ella Harmon Barlow, 92,
formerly of 305, Bost Street, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at Evergreen
Retirement Center, Greensboro, after five months of declining health and
two days seriously ill.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Don Shuman, the Rev. Wendy Shenk-Evans, and Sarah Weaver. Interment will be in Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
She was born June 1, 1907, in Cleveland County, to the late Charles R. Harmon and the late Anna Keller Harmon. She was employed with Cannon Mills Co. Plt. 1 Main Office as a secretary in her earlier years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, where she had sung in the choir in earlier years. She was a resident of Kannapolis for most of her life until moving to Greensboro, in 1991, to be near her son. She was the last living child of eight children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. J. Russell Barlow, who died on Nov. 25, 1991.
Survivors are her one son, John R. Barlow,
II and his wife, Martha S. Barlow of
Greensboro; one grandson, Russell S.
Barlow of Greensboro; and one granddaughter, Joanna B. Alznauer
of
Jacksonville.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Hazel Evangeline Barlow, 74, died
Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Princeton Community
Hospital.
Born March 8, 1925, in Dott, she was the
daughter of the late Glen and Susie Jane Billings
Scott.
She was also preceded in death by her first
husband, Ralph Mills; her second husband,
Harry Barlow; and three brothers,
Dale, Jimmy and Leonard Scott.
Survivors include a son, Roger Mills and
his wife, Patty, of Itmann; four grandsons, Roger
Mills Jr. and his companion, Jackie, of
Chapel Hill, N.C., Gregory Mills and his wife, Dawn,
of Mullens and Dewey Mills and his wife,
Rebecca, and James Mills and his wife, Angela, all of Itmann; seven great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Robert Scott and his wife, Freda, of Lashmeet and Gene A.
Scott and his wife, Mary Jane, of Lake Bottom; and three sisters, Opal
Sparks and her husband, Elmer, of Matoaka, June Ervin and her husband,
Charles, of Itmann and Betty Walker of Princeton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home, Princeton, with Pastor Chalmer Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
