When Leona sent this obituary, I noted that James Jefferson was born in Collins Texas. I have Barlows in Collins Co who own Collinsbrook Farms, but looking thru my records, I can't seem to find the perfect connection for this James, or his father, James Walter Barlow.Note that James Walter Barlow is born in Mississippi and that he married an Abbott. My Collins Co Barlow, Henry Collins Barlow's father was born in Mississippi, and married an Abbott. I originally thought that Glen Jasper, Henry's father, and James Walter were probably brothers, but then in checking, found that Glen's parents married in 1881, and J.W. was born in 1871.
And yet another item I have found making me believe this to be my family is from a cousin who tells of his grandfather, " he had a brother, whose name was not known, but his son was named J.W. Barlow."
His line is the same as the Collinsbrook line of Barlows, so I think this could very well be the J.W. Barlow of whom he was speaking.Can anyone shed any light on James Jefferson Barlow or James Walter Barlow?
