Notes and Queries
Darrell Barlow Shreveport Louisiana 23 February 2003 My family is from East Texas/ Shelby, San Augustine Co and surrounding areas. My ggrandfather was Franklin P. Barlow, who appears in the 1880 San Augustine Co Texas census with his wife, Angelina and 2 yr old son, Daniel. He had a brother, James who lived his life in Shelby Co and probably a brother Joseph who lived in same county. All three Barlows were married within a couple of months of each other in Newton Co Texas. Frank and James married Miller sisters, one month apart in 1877; Frank to Angelina, and James to Mary. These Barlows were sons of James Barlow of Georgia. Sketchy stuff... but would greatly appreciate any info you may have run across....
Margie Munson February 2000 I am looking for my gggrandmother's people. Her name is Mary Amelia Barlow, born May 03, 1814 in Duck Creek, Hancock Co Tennessee. She married John Teal and moved with him to Tilden, Texas where she died June 19, 1894. I am looking for information on her parents, George Barlow and Mary Tucker. I believe that George Barlow was from Georgia. See: C.H.

Lin February 2000 I have been searching this Barlow line for several years. I have learned that my great-grandfather's name is John Barlow from Tennessee ... I have been told that his wife, name unknown, died while giving birth. He left my grandfather with people named Duggins or Duggans and moved on to Texas where he remarried. They had another son names Stanhope Barlow. I hope someone can help me with this ... don't have a clue as to what town he moved to. ..thanks...

I am searching for the family of Mattie Ida Glass who was born August 16, 1874 in Jefferson, Marion Co Texas. I am not sure of her fathers name but I find a Henry Glass and a R.D. Glass in the 1880 Texas census living in Jefferson County. Mattie married John L. BARLOW who was a mail carrier out of Gainesville, Cooke Co Texas. She may have had a brother named Marion. Any information on the GLASS or BARLOW family from Marion Co would be appreciated. also from John I really need to find a marriage certificate for Mary Barlow and A.M. Tipps which may have been in Cooke Co Texas or parts thereabout, prior to 1916 when my father John M. Tipps was born. His birthplace was listed as Valley View, Texas.
