Mrs. Minnie Pugsley Barlow, 69,
wife of Samuel
M. Barlow of 433 H street, died in a local hospital
Tuesday at 1:45 a. m. of neurities after a five weeks' illness.
She was born in Salt Lake and had lived here all her life.
Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Miss Minnie Barlow of
Salt Lake, and Mrs. Clyde E. Williams of Columbus, Ohio; three
sisters, Mrs. Ezra Thompson, Mrs. H. J. Hayward and Mrs. Adelbert
Beesley of Salt Lake, and three grandchildren. |

| Davis Fruit Leader Dies-- John
H. Barlow Rites To Be Held July 26 In Bountiful
(1933)
BOUNTIFUL, July 24.-- John H. Barlow, 64, one of Davis
county's largest and most prominent fruit growers and market gardners
died at his home in Bountiful Sunday of a heart attack following
an illness of two weeks with pneumonia.
He was one of the original organizers of the Growers
market also the Growers exchange and for a number of years was
a director of the company and later served as manager.
Mr. Barlow also was very active in civic and Church
affairs. He served two terms as city councilman of
Bountiful. He was for a long time one of the presidents
of the one-hundredth quorum of Seventy and served for 22 years as superintendent of the
Bountiful Sunday school. He filled a mission to Great Britain
from 1902 to 1904 laboring in the London conference.
On Oct. 31, 1894 he married Mabel
Walker, who with one daughter and four sons survive him. They are John Clyde,
Glen W., and Leo J. Barlow all of Bountiful; Norman
W. Barlow of Cora, Wyo., and Mrs. Algie
Richards of Salt Lake City; also 11 grandchildren and one sister: Mrs.
Richard Stringham of Bountiful and a brother, William
R. Gierisch of Burley, Idaho. |

He is survived by two sons, Leland Eldon & Elbert
Sanford Porter of Centerville; five daughters, Mrs.
Armina Barlow of Bountiful, Mrs.
Elizabeth Wood of Woods Cross, Mrs. Maye Haacke & Miss
Edna Porter of Centerville and Mrs. Areta Rushforth
of Salt Lake; two brothers, Sanford Porter of Arizona and

| Lamoni Call
Mr. Call was born Jan. 25, 1865, at Bountiful,
a son of the late Vasco and Charlotte Holbrook Call. He
was married to Annie
L. Barlow in 1882, who died in 1918. Mr.
Call served as a captain in the national guard
of Utah. He was well known for his writings
on religion and philosophy. On Sept. 16, 1929,
he was married to Carrie Gardner Buys. |

Mrs. Garrett was always a very active
church worker and for many years was president of the Bountiful
Second ward Relief society. She is survived
by three daughters and four sons, Mrs.
Lucy G. Barlow, Santa Monica, Cal.; Mrs.
Rese G. Burningham, Mrs. Elizabeth G. Alkenson. Fred
and Charles Garrett, Bountiful; Jed and Edward Garrett,
Salt Lake City; 32 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two
brothers and a sister, Mrs. Emeline D. Muir, (another
obit says her sister is Emeline Day Miner) Salt Lake

| Linda Barlow Riding
ST. GEORGE--Funeral services were held
at the St. George stake tabernacle at 4 p. m. Sunday for
Mrs. Linda Barlow Riding, 77, who died here Sunday after
a two weeks' illness.
Mrs. Riding was born in Payson, the
daughter of
Oswald
and Katherine Nightengale Barlow, emigrants
from England. Her parents were
called to St. George in 1861 because her father was a mason
and his services were needed here. She was married
to E. Taylor Riding in 1878 in the St. George temple. To
them were born 12 children, nine of whom are living.
Her husband died 25 years ago.
The children are Mrs. Mary Schultz, Butte,
Mont.; Edwin T. Riding, Stockton, Cal.; Tom Riding,
Tooele, Utah; Melvin Riding, Benjamin, Utah; Mrs. Caddie Ashworth, Beaver,
Utah; Mrs. Emma Hemingway, Mrs. Della Pearce, Bessie
and Fred Riding, all of St. George; also 44 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She
is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Adrene Wilson, St. Anthony, Idaho,
and Mrs. Caroline Luke, Junction; also one brother, Willard Barlow
of Junction.

MARY BARLOW WILLEY
A long life of Church activity & community service ended today with
the death of Mrs. Mary A. Barlow Willey, 85, formerly of Bountiful and a resident
of Salt Lake City for the past six years. The daughter of Israel
and Elizabeth
Haven Barlow, early settlers of Utah, Mrs.
Willey was born Nov. 13, 1850 at Bountiful. At one time she was
a member of the Davis County Stake Board of Young Ladies and was well
known for her work in the Sunday School department of the Bountiful Ward. |

Mrs. Smedley had been active in L.D.S.
church activities, having taken part in the Y.W.M.I.A.
in the East Bountiful ward; as counselor to Mrs.
Luella Barlow in the Primary association of the Syracuse ward and
also as counselor to Mrs. Julia Tree in the Relief
society of the Syracuse ward for a number of years. |

Funeral services for Elizabeth Barlow
Jones, 78, who died Tuesday of complications following
a fall downstairs
on December 1, will be conducted at 36 East Seventh South street
at 12 noon Thursday, with Bishop L. LeRoy Karren of the Wilford
L. D. S. ward officiating. Burial will be in the City cemetery.
Final rites for Elizabeth Barlow Jones,
78, who died Tuesday, were conducted today at 36 East
Seventh South Street today. Bishop L. LeRoy Karren of the
Wilford Ward was in charge. Burial took place in City Cemetery.
Born in Salt Lake, March 31, 1860, she
was a daughter of James Madison
and Susan Mott Barlow. Since the death of her husband, N.V.
Jones, she had lived with a daughter, Mrs. Lillian
J. Bird of Los Angeles, and a son, Calvin B. Jones, 1391
Murphy Lane, coordinator in the Salt Lake City schools. She
had been active in Church work in the Fifteenth,
Sugar House, Emerson and Hawthorne Wards. Surviving are three
children: Mrs. Bird, Mr. Jones and Mrs. Clara L.
Cook of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters: Mrs. Jane Muir
of Logan and Mrs. Kate Burton of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, S.M.
Barlow of Salt Lake, and six grandchildren. |
