MARLINTON -- Ivan Neal Barlow, 85, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998. Funeral services will be noon Friday at VanReenen Funeral Home, Marlinton. Friends may call 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements by VanReenen Funeral Home, Marlinton. The Register-Herald, Wednesday, October 21, 1998, Beckley, WV CLEAR FORK -- Walter Eugene Barlow, 52, died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, from injuries received in an automobile accident at Brenton. Born June 18, 1946, at Kopperston, he was the son of Grace Wilson Osborne of Oceana, and the late Daniel M. Barlow, and the stepson of Ott Osborne. Mr. Barlow was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, and a retired coal miner from Eastern Associated Coal Company with 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1968. Mr. Barlow was a member of Clear Fork Advent Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon and trustee. He was a founding member of the Blessed Hope Singers, for 22 years, ministering with his wife, Connie, and friends, Darlene and Steve Counts and Sheila and Greg Morgan. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Madison Barlow; two sisters, Cora Faye Sheppard and Mary Helen Lupardus; and his in-laws, Faye Blankenship and Johnnie and Rosa Lee Blankenship. Survivors include his wife, Connie Barlow; two sons, Jeffery Barlow and fiancee, Anitra Moore, and Shannon Barlow and fiancee, Misty Browning, of Clear Fork; a daughter, Lisa Barlow of LaGrange, Ky.; a sister, Ruth Spears and husband, George, of Oceana; a stepsister, Phyllis Cooper and husband, Jack, of Cleveland, Ohio; two stepbrothers, Russell Osborne and wife, Joyce, of Cleveland, Tenn., and Ronald Osborne and wife, Anna, of Augusta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Jordan, Laken, and Alex Barlow and Marissa Moore; three nieces, Lori Pafford and husband, Chris, of Delaware, Gina Perryman and husband, Michael, of Alabama, and Tiffany Blankenship of Clear Fork; four nephews, Dan Spears and wife, Leah, of Kentucky, Chris Spears and wife, Linda, of Oceana, Tyler Counts of Clear Fork, and Josh Morgan of Brenton; four grandnieces, Nikki Pafford of Delaware, Heather Perryman of Alabama, and Haley Acord of Clear Fork, and Callie Cook of Kentucky; four grandnephews, Korey Spears of Kentucky, Brandon Spears of Oceana, Casey Perryman of Alabama, and Logan Pafford of Delaware. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Advent Christian Church at Clear Fork with the Revs. Eddie B. Aliff and Jerry Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. Military honors will be conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Evans Memorial Chapel, Oceana. Pallbearers will be Ricky Blankenship, Mike Blankenship, Chris Spears, Leonard Lusk, Bob Harmon, James Walker, Danny Spears and Don Bailey.
