I am trying to locate John Henry Barlow born c1905. He married Anna Mae Carter and they had one child, Mildred Mae Barlow, born February 27, 1927 in Oak Hill, West Virginia. Mildred, claimed to be full Cherokee. We have very little information on the family.

John Henry and Anna died when Mildred was quite young. The couple had no other children, and Mildred was raised by grandparents in Oklahoma.

Any help would sure be appreciated, as my husband's mother passed away in 1984, and to our knowledge, there are no known living relatives.

My mother was Cora Faye Barlow Sheppard.   Her father was Daniel Madison Barlow (October 31 1919 to August 10, 1940)    His brothers Chester and Arthur Barlow and Walter Raymond Barlow Neal.   His sisters were Ollie Barlow Cline, Irma Barlow Bowden, and Josephine Barlow Harvey. Daniel's parents were David Allen Barlow and and Cora Griffith (a Cherokee Indian) David's mother was Screpta Burdens

They lived in West Virginia and Ohio.

That is all I know about my mom's family. She died when I was 6 months old and my Grandpa died when I was four.

JOHN HENDRICK BARLOW & MARY CATHERINE EILERMANN

The only information I have on them is that John Hendrick was born around 1820 in Hannover, Germany.   Their name was changed from BARLAGE.

CHILDREN:  George Elias, Henry Phillip, Mary, Sarah, Catherine, Frederick T., and Franklin

HENRY PHILLIP BARLOW born March 14, 1845, in Howesville, Preston Co West Virginia, and died December 05, 1892 in Howesville. He married SARAH ELLIRETA ARNS/ARNES

CHILDREN:  John Henry b 1874, Mary Catherine b 1876, Sara Ann b 1877, Fredrick Garrett b 1879, Jennie Mary b 1881, and Charles Edward b 1884.
