1.	JAMES1 BARLOW was born about 1766 in Sutton, Cheshire, and died October 14, 1841 in Macclesfield Forest, Cheshire. He married MARGARET

Notes:
The genealogy of the grandchildren of James, except for the children of his son John, is probably correct, having been based on the census records and the recorde of the monumental inscriptions in the churchyard of St Stephen's Church, Macclesfield Forest.

In his Will, James Barlow left to his wife Peggy, and his son, John, the farm "Bottom of the Oven", which he held under lease from the Earl of Derby, together with the land, outbuildings and appurtenances; all household goods and furniture, live and dead farming stock, and implements of husbandry and all personal estate and effects.

On Peggy's death the same should go to her son, John.

During the lease, the tenement should provide £5 p.a. to the children Thomas, James, Alice Robinson, Peggy Trafford, Ann Truman, and Martha Barlow, to be paid on 1 May and 1 November, after Peggy's death.

A bequest of 5s was made to grandson Thomas, son of the late William Barlow; to grandchildren Nancy, Sarah, Peggy, Thomas, William and John Robinson, children of the late Sarah - 1s. each, and to his granddaughters Elizabeth and Peggy Cundiff (children of the late Hannah) he bequeathed 2s.6d. each.

To his executrix and executor he left a reasonable allowance for loss of time, and trouble.
