ELIAS WILLIAM BARLOW was born c1807 in South Carolina, and probably died before 1870.

He married ANN, born c1802 in North Carolina, according to census records.

It is thought he is related to the Elias who married Jane of Conecuh Co Alabama, but no relationship has been proven. One of these Elias' is believed to be the son of William Barlow of Robeson Co North Carolina, but that has not been proven either.   Also, assumed to be related to Branson Barlow of Conecuh Co Alabama.

MASON LEVY BARLOW2, (ELIAS1) was born c1833 in Alabama, and probably died before 1900.   I had though Mason to be in the Civil War, however, it appears the Mason who served was killed in1861.

He married NANCY J. JOHNSON on 02 June 1853 in Monroe Co Alabama.  She may be nicknamed Nellie, or else Mason has married a second time by 1870.   Nancy was born c1839, and died before 1880.

JOHN / MARTONE BARLOW, born c1862 in Alabama.   (Martone was shown as a daughter in the 1870 census, but I believe Martone will be the same as John in the 1880 census)

MARY / DICK BARLOW, born October 1862 in Alabama, and died 25 February 1941, burial in Friendship Cemetery, Pine Apple, Wilcox Co Alabama.   (Dick is shown as a son in the 1870 census, but I believe Dick will be the same as Mary in the 1880 census)

LEWIS BARLOW3, (MASON2,ELIAS1), son of Mason Levy Barlow and Nancy J. Johnson, was born c1855 in Alabama, and died between 1893-1900, probably in Wilcox Co Alabama.

He married REBECCA JANE ANDERSON c1878. The daughter of Joel Anderson and Jane Middleton, she was born April 1854 in Alabama, and apparently died after 1920.   Lewis and Rebecca are buried in Mt. Pigsah Primitive Cemetery, Monroe Co Alabama.   I could not locate Rebecca in 1910.  I found a Rebecca Barlow in 1910 in Jones Co Mississippi, mother-in-law of James McDonald (Helen), the age correct, and born in Alabama, but she was also with them in the 1920 census, so she apparently is not this one ... in 1920, this Rebecca is living with Essie and her husband, Earl Fergison.  In 1930, age 74, she is living with son, Joe.

My great-great grandmother and father were Joel Anderson and Jane Middleton. Lewis Barlow married one of their children Rebecca Jane. I decend from their son William A. Anderson who married Mary Jones. Their daugher Beulah Lee Anderson married Fletcher Titus Robinson, their son Wesley Titus Robinson is my father. Are you willing to share information. I will share what I have. I have visted the Middleton Cemetery on the old Federal Road several times.  I began my quest several months ago. Looking for information on Burnt Corn and Dennards Bluff led me to your web site.  Hope to hear from you soon. Finding "cousins" on the web had been great.     Barbara R. EMMETT LONZO/LONNIE BARLOW4, born 06 or 97 September 1877 (census, WWI registration) or 1878 (tombstone inscription), and died 06 February 1937, burial in Palmer Cemetery, in Wilcox Co Alabama.

JOE BARLOW, born 02 November 1884 (tombstone inscription) or 1888 (census), or 1889 (WWI registration), and died 16 September 1953, burial at Mt. Pisgah Primitive Cemetery in Monroe Co Alabama.

ESSIE L. BARLOW, born 13 October 1890, and died 14 May 1978, burial in Mt. Pisgah Primitive Cemetery in Monroe Co Alabama

MARY BARLOW3, (MASON2,ELIAS1), daughter of Mason Levy Barlow and Nancy J. Johnson, was born October 1862 in Alabama, and died 25 February 1941, burial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Pine Apple, Wilcox Co Alabama.

She married JAMES HYTOWER 'JIM' ANDERSON.   The son of Joel Anderson and Jane Middleton, he was born 08 January 1857, and died 25 January 1918, burial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Pine Apple, Wilcox Co Alabama.   He had been married previous to Mary, and brought a son into the marriage, John Davis Anderson, who was born in December 1882, not in 1872 as shown on the census of 1900.     (Partial information for this family comes from Cecil J. JOSIE / JOTHER ANDERSON4, born 09 June 1888 in Wilcox Co Alabama, and died 19 February 1943, burial in Friendship Cemetery, Pine Apple, Wilcox Co Alabama.  She apparently did not marry

ROSA L. ANDERSON, born 23 April 1891 in Wilcox Co Alabama.
She married SPURNUM OWENS on 13 July 1911.  He was the son of Fee Owens and Ella Andrews.  They lived in Laurel, Jones Co Mississippi.   I did not locate them in a 1920 or 1930 census, but they had children: Calvin, John Alvin and Ada Bell Owens.

ASHLEY ANDERSON, born 1892 in Wilcox Co Alabama, and died c1894, burial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Pine Apple, Wilcox Co Alabama.

GEORGE SNOWDEN ANDERSON, born 18 March 1893 in Wilcox Co Alabama, and died January 1962, burial in Awin Community Cemetery, Awin Wilcox Co Alabama.
He married INEZ I. PERKINS

WILLIAM TRAVIS ANDERSON, born 03 February 1898 in Wilcox Co Alabama, and died 01 August 1958, burial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Pine Apple, Wilcox Co Alabama.
He married NELLIE LAMONT on 06 December 1926.   The daughter of Thomas Lamont and Eutocha Vines, she was born 29 December 1905.

ANNIE MAE / MARY ANN ANDERSON, born 19 August 1901 in Wilcox Co Alabama, and died 05 September 1927, when struck by lightning, burial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Pine Apple, Wilcox Co Alabama.

FRANK S. ANDERSON, born 23 July 1904 in Wilcox Co Alabama, and died 14 October 1954 in Lowndes Co Alabama, burial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Pine Apple, Wilcox Co Alabama.

EMMETT LONZO/LONNIE/LEWIS BARLOW4, (LEWIS3,MASON2,ELIAS1), son of Lewis Barlow and Rebecca Anderson, was born 06 or 07 September 1877 (census, WWI registration) or 1878 (tombstone inscription), and died 06 February 1937, burial in Palmer Cemetery, in Wilcox Co Alabama.

He married ALICE WALTHALL who was born 13 October 1890, and died 13 July 1937, just a few short months after her husband's death. She too, is buried at Palmer Cemetery, in Wilcox Co Alabama.

ROBERT LOUIS BARLOW5, born 05 March 1911, and died 25 January 1973, burial in Palmer Cemetery, Wilcox Co Alabama

RUTH EMMA BARLOW, born 13 May 1913, and died 26 July 1994, burial in Palmer Cemetery, Wilcox Co Alabama. 
She married 1.) VINCENT MCCUE
She 2.) RICHARD CHAPMAN.  He was born 06 March 1907, and died 13 October 1977, burial in Palmer Cemetery, Wilcox Co Alabama. 

HUBERT WINSTON BARLOW, born 11 January 1915, and died 17 October 1938, burial in Palmer Cemetery, Wilcox Co Alabama. 

JAMES WALTHALL BARLOW, born 26 December 1916, and died 30 May 2007.  Private, U.S. Navy. Served in WWII on the island of Guam.

LOUISE REBECCA BARLOW, born 08 September 1918, and died 12 April 1988, burial in Palmer Cemetery, Wilcox Co Alabama.
She married 1) MR. BYRNES.  She married 2) FRED WEITZEL.

KENNETH FOY BARLOW, born 19 May 1920 in Alabama, and died October 1987.  His remains lie in the humble village of Toamua, Upolu, Western Samoa in He served in WWII, held as a prisoner of war, returning home weighing around 80 lbs. 

JOE BARLOW4, (LEWIS3,MASON2,ELIAS1), son of Lewis Barlow and Rebecca Anderson, was born 02 November 1884 (tombstone inscription) or 1888 (census), or 1889 (WWI registration), and died 16 September 1953, burial at Mt. Pisgah Primitive Cemetery in Monroe Co Alabama.

He married MAMIE LEE WARD.

ESSIE L. BARLOW4, (LEWIS3,MASON2,ELIAS1), daughter of Lewis Barlow and Rebecca Anderson, was born 13 October 1890, and died 14 May 1978, burial in Mt. Pisgah Primitive Cemetery in Monroe Co Alabama

She married EARL AUSTIN FERGISON. He was born 13 October 1890, and died 14 May 1978, burial in Mt Pigsah Primitive Cemetery, Monroe Co Alabama.
