JOHN BARLOW was born on February 09, 1767, at Nottingham, England, and died on January 28, 1835, at Florida NY and was buried in the Barlow Cemetery at Amsterdam-Minaville Road, Florida, Montgomery Co NY.

His wife was ELIZABETH, maiden name unknown. She was born January 06, 1773, and died March 09, 1847, burial in the Barlow Cemetery at Amsterdam-Minaville Rd, Florida, Montgomery Co NY

In a letter dated November 19, 2015, Walter Stromquist writes about John's wife, Elizabeth:

Perhaps she was Elizabeth Bradshaw, the daughter of my ancestors James and Elizabeth Bradshaw who came from England in 1775 and, soon after, founded a large family in Schenectady County, NY. Many sources give daughter Elizabeth's birth date as 06 Jan. 1773, and it would appear that these sources are quite independent of the Barlow family grave record. James Bradshaw's will, originally dated 1837, mentions "my Dau. Elizabeth wife of John Barlow" and in a codicil mentions "John Barlow of Florida".

I have an unreliable old note that says John Barlow married Elizabeth Unwin in England. So it is possible that he had two wives names Elizabeth. But even in that case, it would seem likely that the wife that appears in the cemetery record was Elizabeth Bradshaw, daughter of James and Elizabeth.

i.	JOHN BARLOW, JR.2, born February 02, 1804, and died April 13, 1855, burial in the Barlow Cemetery at Amsterdam-Minaville Road, Florida, Montgomery Co NY. He married MARY HARTLEY of Broadalbin on March 04, 1827 in the Presbyterian Church in the Village of Amsterdam, Montgomery Co NY. The 1850 census of Florida, Montgomery Co NY shows John, age 45, and Mary age 44, listed as farmers, with 3 laborers in their household, Mary Dun, 16, Reuben Hartly, 16, and Michael Lape, 25, all of them born in NY. If the Barlow's had children, it is not known. In 1860 Mary is head of household in Florida NY, Elizabeth Barlow, John Hartley, and Mary Dunn, and 3 other laborers live in her household. In 1870, Mary and Elizabeth Barlow both live in the home of John B. Hartley and his wife Anna [DeForest]. [John B. Hartley is the son of Isaac and Sarah Barlow Hartley] Mary Dun is also in that household, making me think she must be more than a housekeeper, she must have a relationship to Mary, [Her death date is listed in the Isaac Hartley Bible as March 13, 1896] Reuben Hartley is a neighbor in both the 1860 and 70 census, he and John must be closely related to Mary. SBH.
ii.	ELIZABETH BARLOW, born on January 13, 1806, at Johnstown New York. She died unmarried on September 12, 1871, and was buried in the Amsterdam-Minaville Road Cemetery. Photo with original leather case (Patented 1854) was found at an estate sale in Galway, NY, just outside of Albany. Click thumbnail to enlarge. John Hartley who is mentioned on the note, is probably the son of Sarah and Isaac Hartley.
iii.	ANN BARLOW, born 1810, married a Mr. PHILLIPS
iv.	MARY BARLOW, born around 1810-1815. She married WILLIAM R. COPPACK of Palmyra NY on May 03, 1831 in the Dutch Reformed Church at Minaville, Florida, Montgomery Co NY

SARAH 'SALLY' BARLOW, born May 14, 1812, and died August 01, 1872, baptism on September 08, 1816 in St. George's Espiscopal Church in Schenectady Co NY She married ISAAC HARTLEY [Jr] on October 21, 1835 in the Dutch Reformed Church at Minaville, Florida, Montgomery Co NY. The son of Isaac Hartley [Sr] of Cockermouth, Cumberland Co England, and his 1rst wife, Isabella Johnson, Isaac Jr. was born 1804, and died April 05, 1880. All of above mentioned are buried in the West Galway Cemetery, 1/2 mile from Four Corners north on the road to Hoesville and Perth Center in Fulton Co NY.

v.	ALEXANDER F. HARTLEY, born 1846. He married FANNIE E.

Born in November 11, 1843 in Florida, Montgomery Co NY, she died February 03, 1922, aged 78 years. Both are buried in the Chuctanunda Cemetery, Minaville, Florida, Montgomery Co NY.
